I'd imagine so unless they were those movie zombies that run faster than real people and can pile over entire buildings to get to the top like a wave and other weird shit, or there were just outright ten thousand of them and the pikemen just couldn't kill enough of them without getting overwhelmed.
The one thing that would suck about pikes I think as opposed to shorter spears is that if you miss and hit them in the chest or something you've still got a live zombie on your spear that might prevent you from using the spear again if something goes wrong.
