I find it better this way because if you have a god on your team then they will still outplay shitters despite no level difference, compared to league where 1 shitter on your team will feed their shitter several levels and thousands of gold, which means their shitter becomes a god or an impossible stat check.

You cant solo carry as hard but your team can't feed as hard and in a team based game i would rather have people forced to work together than try to afk in lanes so they can play god.

The rounds are shorter so you only have to commit to around ~20min per match. The exp is shared. No need to last hit, players talk about 'soaking' EXP instead. The maps are wildly different and have game changing objectives. In Egyptian map you have three fields that open up periodically where you fight mobs and the field nukes enemy towers and base. In another map you contest a field to unlock a mecha that can be piloted by up to two team mates and destroy towers. Because of the objectives, you can pull off fun things like nuking the enemy base down on one field when there's a desperate teamfight going on another and the enemy team is too busy to notice what's happening.

There's also usually one character per team that is less team fight oriented and more about split pushing and soaking EXP to beef up your team. There's Sylvanas that can AoE creeps, teleport far when threatened and her only contribution to team fights is a CC mindcontrol ulti. There's a support characters that finds a spot to sit on, then his actual gameplay is using support spells on your team across the map and occasionally taking control of your own creeps to split push.

Frankly, the 20 minutes rounds alone make it worth it and saves you hours of stress and anger. Fun characters, team objectives and varying maps only add a bit of fun flavor.

And as much as the heroes are cool for every interesting hero that you might enjoy playing there's 3 absolute cancer inducing ones that completely ruin the game for you. Come back when you have played a few games vs any of the ow characters (but especially genji, junkrat or tracer) samuro or medivh. Shit is just miserable. And when you add in the fact that out of the three mobas (leeague/dota/hots) hots is actually the most draft depended one because of the different maps you have a recipe for disaster since your casual moba now has a huge learning curve of needing to learn multiple characters per role just to climb out of the shitter ranks.
There's also a bunch of other really bad assumptions the game makes, one of which is that the devs think people hated laning phase in other mobas, they don't in fact laning phase is probably the most fun thing to practice because It's almost a pure 1v1. What people actually hated was losing the game without having done anything because their off lane or whatever got destryoed and now they can never come back. Hots breaks as many things as they fix and as I said previously making a moba when league/dota had so much of the market was dumb to begin with. Wings of Liberty was the last PC game I bought in physical form, it's even in one of the big boxes like the SC1 battlechest was. I don't regret playing any of sc2, but mourn for what could have been if Blizzard wasn't the trashfire it was becoming.

He and a few others went exploring around the galaxy while the Overmind ate the rest of his species and now he's back and fuck ass mad at both the zerg and the protoss for driving his race to extinction. EZPZ plot you get half crazed with grief amon and a few of his lieutenants with variable beliefs making hybrid monsters to finish the grand experiment and to exterminate their former failures to varying degrees introducing tons of possible interactions.

Which would bring humanity into the conflict since we have latent psionic powers in this setting. It would fit with a "evil Protoss" theme, I think.

I liked playing as Jimmy because his abilities were straight forward and it felt like I was playing a marine from StarCraft. When heroes become overly complex I lose all interest in them because I realize, these heroes suffer from bloat. I also remember that anyone who plays these kinds of heroes is no different than a little boy putting baseball cards in his bike’s tire spokes. A classic hero like Jimmy is able to eliminate enemy heroes with relative ease and I don’t have to smash half of my keyboard just to do the same amount of damage that Jimmy does with one shot from his rifle. The engine was duct-taped garbage, the balance was all out of whack but most importantly the playerbase the game attracted was the biggest drooling retards ever.
Even at the top 200 in ranked people played like shit, had no clue about basic game mechanics like soaking and couldn't identify win condition.
The game was carried by its art team and that's why it lived on for so long. Everything else was mediocre.

It's a party game wearing the skin of a dota clone for people that despise the genre somehow.

I can't speak that much about. Overwatch had this dumb even when they added the heroes in, "play x games (and win, maybe?) in HotS and get these exclusive skins for OW", so I gave the game a blind shot. Zero experience with mobas and I know now of course that it's a really dumbed down one too, but the chaos of everything, the different ttk, the classes being different to OW, it was all very throwing and I don't know that that inter-company push for player cross contamination did much for them. I did end up falling in love with Butcher because he's pretty braindead to a point lol, gave me some leverag to actually understand and enjoy the game. Still took me a few tries to stick with it, now I mourn it. Also overwatch ended up giving those skins away non-exclusively anyway lol, fuckers. These days my favorites are Deckard, Anduin, Deathwing, Chromie, and above all Abathur.

Valeera's ass is nice and all, but her main claim to fame is being in Hearthstone as the rogue class. I would have preferred VanCleef and some defias niggas, but I'll admit I'm probably the only one.

This is literally just Brood War. The hybrids were foreshadowed, so they had to do something with them. I actually recently replayed Starcraft (vanilla, not Brood War) and one thing stuck out to me: In Protoss Mission 9, Tassadar confirms that the Xel'Naga created both the Zerg and Protoss and that the Overmind was "continuing their experiments." It seems to me the hybrids were supposed to be a goal of the Xel'Naga broadly, not one rouge guy. Also, I didn't get the impression that they were supposed to be literal gods, I think the Protoss just treat them like that because they're autistic, the Zerg don't give a fuck. I honestly think Legacy of the Void is where the story went to shit, Wings of Liberty and less so Heart of the Swarm really weren't all that bad. I think having the Xel'Naga be these god-like entities rather than more grounded villains that would allow opportunities for better character writing (like Brood War) was the fatal misstep.
