Donald Pleasence was great in it. Going from arrogant snob to how he talks at the end about how he says his vineyard was the only place he was ever really happy and throwing away his prized collection. The ending just hits so good. When the killer gives kudos to Columbo, not just as a detective but as someone who has come to understand their business and life is just excellent endings.
