I've reached a point where I've moved on and stopped caring about HL3 or any Valve titles with a 3 in its name for that matter to keep myself happy.
I'm aware if I keep hoping for HL3, it will only make me hate Valve and Steam more so I simply let it go and I couldn't care less if there are news of any form of development on it.

L4D3 easy, it's no competition. Half Life was literally just a well made tech showcase, and we don't even do tech showcases anymore. Meanwhile, Fatshark fell off with Darktide, and L4D needs to pick that torch back up again.

I have beetles for pets. They are very low maintenance and easy to keep but aren't very active. Also most adult beetles only live like 2 months. Most of their lives are spent as larvae. There are some beetles that live a while as adults though. Particular a lot of desert beetle species. I have some that are going on 5+ years now as adults.

There's nothing you could do with L4D3. Every type of special infected is already covered, the lack of mods or interesting ideas in B4B prove this.
