What's especially funny to me is the armor bar system completely nullifies the point and story of one of the prebuilt story characters you can choose to play: the lady whose singing "drives people mad." It's an AoE effect that lasts 1 turn, costs Source so use is limited, and doesn't go through armor bars. Unless you've already focus-fired down a target to get rid of its magic protection, her song does nothing.
