Do what you want. I recommend doing some quests tho. If you are f2p, then just chill and see if you like it. Most content is in Members world tho.

I can understand monthly memberships for server-based games. But the question is "Is it worth the membership"?

You can buy bonds but thanks to whales and constantly inflated end-game content they're 15M each, so that's 30M for a month or membership. Which kind of makes it hard to make the jump, early levels you won't be able to make enough coin without treating it like a full time job. It will also greatly slow your progression since you need to reinvest those coins into skills. Best bet is play f2p for a while, and if you like it pay for a couple months. Don't drop $100 for the year, I don't think jagex deserves that money.

Yeah. A tenner a month is nothing for me. If you have to debate £10 a month for something you enjoy I don't envy your position.
You could argue the price is or isn't worth it compared to other MMOs but that boils down to your preference of game and, again, if £10 is a lot of money for you or not.

Stopped growing, if your an investor and your green line isn't going up forever you sell. Then the next guy tries to squeeze more value out of it before passing it on again on that line plateaus. OSRS is never going to be bigger that RS was back in the day so the only way to make that line go up is to raise prices or push other transactions. RuneScape is in a worse position than a game like wow because it is practically the only revenue source for Jagex. Blizzard doesn't get sold and bought out if WoW makes less money from y2y, Jagex does.

Everyone likes to log in and have an empty server, too much competition for resources will just drive players away. Especially now nearly everyone is playing AFK. Financing advertising costs money, and OSRS is a hard sell without the nostalgia of having already played the game. I am sure if lowering costs would make them more money they'd do it, but they decided they will make more by raising prices.
