You ever think a game is just complete shit and finish it anyway?
Anonymous No.713933568 [Report]
Yes. You can't let the shittiness beat you.

Ok I'll bite. How is OG RF shit? Assuming you played it when it came out and you're not just complaining about a 20 year old game you played now like a dumb zoomer

No, why the fuck would I do that?

I thought CrossCode was 90% raw sewer ass and then the DLC came and made me desperately miss the characters. I still think about these virtual faggots.

The digimon cybershit game. I beat it just so i can tell my friend who recced it to me 10 years ago that i beat it.
Turns out the faggot only played a few hours, recced it to me, and then he found the game boring soon after.

It wasn't good back then.
>Literally all weapons that aren't 1h sword are shit. Have fun with the ol' "run up to them and combo them until they die" strat.
>Who the fuck thought Mei's fishmarriage was a good idea?
>Literally all magic is worthless
>Music didn't account for how the DS speakers would play it back. Like, holy shit.
>Misty Bloom. No, I refuse to accept the excuse that this is a way of forcing you to stop dungeon diving and actually work on your farm and waifus

You can stop pretending you didn't start with 3/4.

RF1 and 2 completely slipped under my radar when they came out.

I think I at least have a memory of 3 existing on DS from some video or something but otherwise the series has been an entirely PC experience for me.

The series had basically no internet presence until 3 came out, cuz that game decided to make literally the entire village some kind of free-range insane asylum, ripe for infinite memes. If you weren't a diehard harvest moon fan when it came out, there was practically no way of you knowing about it.

Sometimes. I had to see the shitshow that was GTFO to the end even when I basically just cheated like a motherfucker to see all of it solo. Wasn't really worth it, but I guess it was funny to see how stupid the plot was once I was able to step back and really think about what the fuck I just had to endure and what was presented.

Literally every Atelier game on a "timer."
>hurrrrrrrrrr filtered
I did everything with a year to spare. Really, most Gust games struggle at the end, but adding a waiting game to the slog is a deadly combination.

Yes, final fantasy 13 and 15. Never even finished 16. Give it turn based combat and we will talk

Xenoblade 2
I sort of started enjoying the combat about uh 60 hours in when I finally had a decent collection of rare blades to use from the gacha and then the game ended 10 hours later

Maybe it's tolerable if it's your first game, but going back to it after the other games is difficult since it's lacking even basic features the other games had. The writing seemed kind of dry too

Should RF1 get a remake or should Frontier? I never played 1, but I did play Frontier and liked most of it besides the aids Runey system.

RF1 could use a buff
Other games are fine more or less

Alone in the Dark 2024. I got it from PS Plus, it's gameplay is awful but the Lovecraft stuff is kinda cool, plus the game is super short. I think I finished it in like 4 hours

I did. Still have my original box. I stopped for ten years after I opened up the winter dungeon right as winter ended and I couldn't fucking go inside.

I loved the idea of the game but the characters were boring and the content was ass. I never played another RF.

Can't understand good if you have no litmus for bad, and sometimes taking in something terrible is worthwhile.

I thought it was fine, besides the time spent playing as Kyle
>Yeah time to play Rune Factory!!
>Let's level my crops!
>Stuck at level 3 because shit tools
>I wonder when I'll unlock crafting!
>Never unlock crafting
>In the meantime how about I try the dungeons!
>There are no dungeons
>...
>Do nothing but wake up, talk to future wife, and go back to bed

RF is best played in order since they got progressively better each game, though usually at the caveat of fucking something else up in return. But between the two Frontier with a runey cheat to either have them removed or you have a max stack of each in your storage bin/inventory.

With that Frontier's probably the best in that Rf1-2 era style of combat/game flow, its also probably the comfiest and best looking of the games in general.

Seriously. How have they not surpassed a Wii game in terms of presentation? Tides and Guardian of Azuma's combat may be better, but they don't feel as relaxing to play as Frontier did, aside from the time spent figuring out the runey system of course.

I feel like anyone with patience for that trash has patience for RF1.
Anonymous No.713944036 [Report]

The runey system really did tank that game hard, and it was pretty close to being relatively workable too, just remove the stupid vacuum and let us move shit around through candy's map thing or some other method to quickly grab/move them around as that's really where the whole thing becomes an obnoxious chore.

I never looked at how RFF did but word of mouth made me assume it didnt do very well and RF was still niche as fuck, and id like to assume the money spent on frontier wasnt cheap so when it didnt return well they just focused more on how the games play afterwards, villager dialogue, other less expensive stuff

RF5 was really the chance they had to return to that level of care/effort too but, well y'know

I didn’t know of the series until I saw Frontier at best buy or some other store. Bought it and poured way too much time into it.
