So I'm pretty happy with performance in most of my more demanding games, but should I install Gamemode just to get more out of my hardware?

these threads keep popping up
yet no one advocating linux even attempts to address the main problem with "linux" "gaming"

COMPATIBILITY

linux still lacks compatibility with tons of modern games, and will ***never*** be compatible with games requiring anti-cheat
anyone who plays games on linux is a linux user first and a gamer afterwards
if you are a gamer first, you cannot use linux

Could it be that people don't give a shit about games that force anticheat down their throats? All of the games aside from like 2 are compatible that I care about.

you are saying that once linux users found out they cannot play games with anti-cheat, they subsequently decided they do not want to play games with anti-cheat?
just like once i learned i could never afford a private jet, i decided i never wanted one in the first place
you idiots are coping hard

I play software development and earn [[KROMER]] that I can exchange for items like food.
For video games, I use Windows.

I didn't play malware games when I used Windows and I don't play them now. Get some standards for the software that runs on "your" PC.

OHNONONONONONOO freetard sisters, we can't let him talk about the no-no topics, shut him down, I repeat, SHUT HIM DOWN!!1

>games requiring anti-cheat
Fuck all that, Linux compatibility is horrendous in general. Games are usually written and released once, and that's it.
The retarded design choices and licensing scheme of GNU systems don't allow for proper binary compatibility. At this point, if you wanted a generic desktop application for Linux that is compatible with a lot of Linux systems and will probably keep running too, you're probably best off targeting Win32.
Gaming, as desktop computing in general, on Linux is a gimmick.

Normieslop will have much better compatibility obviously. You clearly don't play anything that's even remotely obscure.

Recently I got into The You Testament. I've been aware of it for a while but was too impatient to deal with how janky it is. If you can steel your resolve and adapt to the jank, it is genuinely better than most bethesda rpgs.
