anomalies are such a non-thing by the time i got to prypiet i coompletely forgot they were on the game. it boils down to hearing a beep and strafing around it. its just a 2 mts x 2 mts zone yyou have to walk around, nothing else.
and the roleplay???? THERE IS NOOOOOONEE FUCK YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUU 90% OF DIALOGUE ONLY HAS ONE OPTION. FALLOUT 3 HAD MORE DEPTH HOLY SHIT THIS GAME IS SO FUCKING GARBAGE

AI is shockingly bad. Soldiers freeze behind cover for several minutes with half their body poking out, like their AI can't decide what they're doing. Dogs can't pathfind more than 2 inches off the ground and will just alternate between charging at you and running behind a tree if you climb on a 2ft high box. Enemies are given immediate god mode sight to see you through walls if you enter certain areas like the southern checkpoint buildings. I shot a neutral NPC in the back from 2 feet away with a silenced gun and he turned round, stared at me, yelled "HE MUST BE HERE SOMEWHERE" then walked past me. Then 15 feet away turned round and started shooting me. It's just awful.

Janky bugs i was expecting but it's still kind of jarring to see the crippled NPC I'm talking to suddenly levitate 3 feet off the bed. The sound design is terrible someone needs to remind the devs that sound is one of only two senses we experience computer games with. Music is stupidly loud but also cuts out for no reason. I can't hear the mission giver give me a mission because someone next to a campfire 20 feet away suddenly starts talking 5x louder than him.

You should play Morrowind, you sound like you would love it.

One of the worst game I ever played. Like really - uninstalled and forgot. I dont have time to waste to play anything like this.

eventually you stop struggling with stalker 1 once you just get used to the bullshit, on a replay i breezed through it because i was just aware of everything that is retarded about it
>weapons are comically innacurate in early-middle game, so just make sure to spray like 4-5 bullets to the head at once every time instead of trusting a single well aimed headshot to work
>dont ever consider aiming center mass so the innacuracy doesnt fuck you, it will deal beyond dogshit damage
>note that just running past enemies in an open area at decent enough distance will make them have abysmal accuracy and you can outright sprint past shooting squads as long as you have some medkits to pop

GAMMA is hard but it's less jank. It has "modern" gunplay and quality of life. You can turn off the retarded grokshit in the mod menu and tweak the whole experience. It's a way easier entrypoint to the series by far.
If you care about the original story then play Radiophobia v3. The originals are for hardcore fans now.
