So I have just finished this game, played Claire A and Leon B scenarios and I gotta say it was not hard at all, everything was pretty straightforward and Mr. T was piss easy enemy not only as his normal self but also as a boss in Leon scenario. I had been always told that this game is some kind of nightmare when it comes to limited saves and controls but it's overall fun and sane action game, the map design and the way I backtracked through the map reminded me a lot about dmc 1 which is probably natural association hence both were made under Hideki Kamiya

I have never heard anyone call RE2 hard. I feel like it’s regarded as easiest of original trilogy. Although in my opinion RE1 as Jill is even easier.

RE3 is the hardest, because Nemisis is kind of an ass to fight early on without cheesing him on geometry.

Exactly, most bosses are just run and gun, although I admit this simplicity is sometimes cool, especially when I crash 4 fucking zombies with one shot from grenade launcher with fire ammo, when I started I actually avoided fighting the zombies because I have heard that you cannot kill them so I didn't want to waste my resources, once I got 30 grenade ammo I fucking cleared entire P.D.

Please, I am begging you, play through the whole series in release order. It is an experience you will never forget and it will make you so happy. I did it in 2021 and I look back so fondly on those times. Pic related is the list of games you should play and the order I recommend. It is so much fun.

Hard mode has barely enough ammo, especially if you go get the Special Key.

Learning how good the knife is, and using it well in the beginning, sets up the ammo abundance later. Without that you end up spending a bunch of pretty valuable early ammo types on stupid things which just snowballs.
Not to an unmanageable level, but an uncomfortable one for sure.
