I know it's just a pain in the ass. You have to time the jumps just right on top of bieng at the right place on the thing for the third jump to get you to the upper level, and all at a good time during the pattern. It's annoying and is it sapps all joy after the 10th time you've been pushed back by the stupid ice waves.

You don't even need to go through that, you can literally triple jump up there from the start of the level, you never even have to interact with the lake area

What? It literally tells you what to do and where to go. You can get to the dungeon in one area in one cycle, then just restart the cycle before you try the temple if you feel at all pressured for time. Everything you need to start the temple is done in the first cycle. Then the temple in the second cycle. Anytime you feel like you missed something post-temple boss in that area, you can just warp to it and skip directly to the boss and beat him again. It's pretty straight-forward.
Also: pay attention to the dancing scarecrow. Play the Inverted Song of Time and Song of Double Time when needed.
