it's probably allowed in the first lap because theres so much traffic on the first corners. webm related, in f1 sochi track they allowed going wide first lap first turn but you had to rejoin the track going between the bollards in an effort to make drivers slow down and lose advantage. that didnt work out.

NASCAR is designed for oval races, which means the cars are big heavy and can't turn worth a shit. So when they bring NASCAR to actual non-oval racing tracks, it's always a massive shitshow.
