As someone who is paralyzed from the waist down, use of wheelchairs in fantasy settings absolutely piss me off. There is no conceivable universe where I WOULDN'T choose to heal my legs with magic if I could, and the thought of super powerful mages intentionally using wheelchairs when they have less cumbersome options at their disposal is so unbelievably insulting it hurts. My dad's got vitiligo (he's white, but it's still visible as hell) and all the vitiligo shit in games just makes him mad or annoys him, he spent a few years just scrambling around the internet trying to find a cure, like he needs some kind of lotion or a vitamin or something and it'd just go away magically, but that just isn't a thing. If anyone tries to get literally anywhere in our town in a wheelchair, they absolutely can't without riding on the road, and our roads are too narrow for cars to go around them without serious risk of braining them with the side view mirrors.

Regenerate is a 7th level spell requiring at least a 13th level caster. Many settings don't see many characters over 10, and even still, that doesn't mean they'll just cast their high tier magic on you freely. In prior editions this would be a service requiring tens of thousands of gold. I don't like magic wheel chair in fantasy either because it runs totally counter to the heroic ideal adventurers are meant to represent, but complaining about not using limited high tier resources you aren't guaranteed access to is ridiculous. It's like saying the poor shouldn't have disease and poor education because hospitals and private schools exist (which they can't afford).

Yes it's called greater restoration, curing everything save death (diseases might work differently I'm not sure). For dead characters you might need "Wish" or something which is an end-game spell. Minor restoration is easier to get but just restores some health stat.
