I noticed this too. The obvious explanation that comes to mind is simply that Covid caused a inflix of new and old to devs to work more since they where locked down. Now all of that shit has calmed down and we're back to the pre 2020 levels.

Text-Based H-games that don't have years of content and mods, like CoC, simply can't compete with what you can do with LLM chatbot. Other genres weren't really as impacted, but there's alot more slop out there now you have to dig through if you don't like AICG's

The dev for pic related is probably the last dev I can remember who has made decent relatively finished 2DCG games as of recent.
