If I'm understanding this correctly: you paid hundreds of dollars for a Switch 2/$80 for a new Mario Kart with the expectation of a new way of playing and interacting with a new world...and you just wanted to play like Mario Kart 8, a game that has been out for a decade? Why? Just play Mario Kart 8?

Some retards just want to drive around the same course 3 times before moving onto the next course and driving around it 3 times again.

they created an open world game that only utilizes its open world to make grand prix boring. also the roster is lazy and there are not alternate color schemes for characters.

I’m tired of Mario Kart 8 personally. That shit was around for 11 years.

>Create massive network of interconnected racetracks, paying equal attention to each area
>There's so much track now that you're no longer constrained to the lap system, which was always a product of design limitations
>Every part of the race can now be unique, like Mount Wario and a couple other high-budget tracks from MK8
>Release it
>Players hate it, demand to only race on a fraction of your tracks, so they can drive in a circle three times like they're used to

>they're all straight lines
Thank you daddy Nitendo, very cool, I'll gladly pay $80 for another straight line simulator.

straight line wpouldnt be so bad if the gameplay wasnt so casualized. if there was more time before reaching max speed, less adherence instead of gimmicky bullshit, and even faster speed in general

The obvious reason why they didn't do that is the doubled player count. Everything has to be more forgiving now because there's twice as much of it flying around. If 24 player Mario Kart is exactly as punishing as 12 player Mario Kart, then getting hit is just going to combofuck you into last place most of the time.

how is driving in a straight line innovating the more natural dynamic circuit race? highways could have had traffic modifiers (heavy traffic, road ragers, police chase, extra bombs and bills, etc) or events (item pool modifiers, weather) to introduce some variety in the intermissions. straight lines can be a lot of fun but they didnt really utilize the potential sandbox elements and made the open world an afterthought.

straight lines wouldn't be bad if you did a full race at the end instead of one gimped lap
a full race after the highway would completely fix both the boring "reee can't race on the track" issue and the balancing issue of sandbagging being too strong

why is literally what happens all the time in mario kart world

and yo ucan still have good acceleration for the first % chunks of the speed spectrum and haver the last % take slower and slower and reduced by turning etc

also isnt two uinnovations at the same time too much? shouldtn they either make a 24 player regular or 12 player open world?

Because they're not straight? They twist and turn all over the place, they're all designed to be raced on the same way. They just don't loop back to their starting location.

What do you mean you don't want to enter the track through different routes in the overworld that change depending on your prior track and just want to race 3 laps on it?

I can't wall ride and rail grind and perform all sorts of cool shortcuts without a mushroom in MK8. They went out of their way to make a lot of the courses more complex and interesting to play on, along with good mechanics that make sense in Mario Kart and said no, don't bother. Drive this intermission where doing that puts you at a disadvantage. You want a shortcut? You have to use a mushroom, just like MK8. I want to move on from 8 and the need for items just to do cool things.

Nintendo went to the effort of designing 30 race tracks for the game. I want the option to play them.

Intermissions just aren't fun to drive on
They're too big and wide and allow for no skill expression from players so races are entirely determined by items
