the visual difference ue4 and 5 is almost non-existent so why is the difference in performance demanded so dramatic

the video game industry is predicated on the illusion of constant technological progress
they need a way to sell you new consoles and GPUs otherwise it all falls apart. whether or not graphics get much better, they'll find ways to make games run like shit without spending your way through it
