don't spend too much time exploring the first area, farm like 300 gold and go straight to the first portal, see if they have a teleport bolt and use it. it's one of the most important spells that will make your playthrough at least 50% easier

At first I suggest taking things very slow, collect all the things you can find. Learn what spell wrapping is and be prepared to always on fire because you touched the wrong pixel.

Play SLOW
try to escape the temple via teleportation or polymorh
don't run away into unexplored territory

hiisi can't shoot directly up or down, except for snipers
find a way to deal with fire quickly

if you put a multicast mod + chainsaw in the last two slots of a spell it turns your wand into a machine gun.

Also install the megumin skin mod

Yeah. Once you get sick of being restricted to experimenting with wands inside the temple areas, you can go find and install the 'edit wands anywhere' mod, and have a much more fun and less tedious experience.

noita is an actual game with gameplay and mechanics and lots of objectives including multiple different endings, and a bunch of side areas

fluids are more significant than you might expect

Pain and suffering but also one of the best magic systems out there.
Consider installing mods to enhance and customize your experience, vanilla noita is more than a little unforgiving.

How do I use spells? I found a pyramid and at the top I got this orb that gave me an earthquake spell but I can't figure out how to cast it.

This. Limiting wand editing to temples was a mistake.

Edit Wand Everywhere mod is tolerable until your fist win
Gold is Forever mod is, for me, a logical choice
Any skin is okay

That's not really an upgrade, it's more of the opposite and used as a tool in one of the "questlines." Try grabbing it when you've come a bit further and at least got a teleport bolt wand.

Is there any way to get health back? So much random fire everywhere and I accidentally touch it a few times and I'm just dead.

I've got about 800 runs and 3 wins, about 50 of those would have been winable if I stopped being a greedy bastard and going back up the mountain to try and get better wands from the area under the watchtower
