>>714019413 (OP)Nintendo themselves are boring, casualized and devoid of soul. I can't say they were ever not casualized, but the boring and devoid of soul part is a fairly recent occurrence. Nintendo was the last thing left keeping me interested in games since they at least did their own thing and were the "weird" ones that wanted to give new play experiences and try to push the industry forward. Now they are the same as the others, just with weaker hardware, Mario and Zelda. I hate it because I don't want to be a sports junkie like I know I'm turning into, but there's nothing really interesting happening in the video game industry for me. Since Nintendo isn't doing anything interesting anymore (and I know Sony and Microsoft are only going to be "the same thing as last time but more powerful" like they've been for generations), the move is just sticking with my PC and playing older consoles for older games I missed.
I apologize for posting all this here, it's been something that I've been thinking about for a while. Video games have been a huge part of my life for over 2 decades now and I hate that I'm feeling this way.
