The Alters was one of the games that had the most potential from this year. Turns out it's AIslop. Supporting AIslop is giving the green light for developers of vidya to use AI, and telling them that they get a competitive edge for doing so. I do not want to live in an industry where AIslop reigns. Everything will get worse. I'm not interested in rewarding proompting and cost cutting.
I am never buying a game from 11 Bit Studios ever again. This War of Mine, Frostpunk 1 and Frostpunk 2 are the only games of theirs that will ever be on my steam library. What a fucking shame. This is the first time AI slop wasn't just a nebulous threat but something that affected a game I was actually interested in.

but yea... its lacks replayability imo
and the world just feels so empty and nothing to do (imo there should be variability of things you can do despite the limitations on what mats you have)
tldr, it just felt like a one and done game, not even an endless/hoard type thing

My biggest problem is seeing all these music playlists on YouTube and genuinely not knowing if it's AI or not. The comments love the music but for me it just feels AI. And these sort of channels are pumping out 1 hour long playlists every week and shit. Rubs me off the wrong way
