Why didn't this series take off as well as other other sonic fangames and titles? The voice acting and the cutscenes are kinda cringe sometimes but it's overall pretty good. Definitely a contender for other 2d classic titles

It lacks a good, simple story hook, like FAST HEDGEHOG FIGHT FAT EGG-SHAPED SCIENTIST YEAH.
The story of Freedom Planet is weak, while at the same time being too complex and wordy.

this. also taking an eternity to make a sequel, having even more cringe voice acting and cutscenes that are off-putting even to fans of the first game
