>>714040532 Exploration is a big part of classic FPS games, often as big of a part of the gameplay as the shooting itself, they just don't do it as often anymore because zoomers don't have good spatial awareness.
>>714039760 (OP) People throughout all of history have always said "These damn kids are the worst generation!", but this time, it's actually true. The amount of brainrot from generation Z / A and lack of effort is astounding. No time in the history of mankind has this ever happened. Humanity is beyond fucked.
>>714041185 Everyone has become demented and lacking in humanity, with an extremely weak will, it's impossible to get through to them. Even older people, and all of the people I used to be friends with.
>>714040713 The tutorial specifically gives you a crowbar and tells you to break the box to proceed to the next part of the tutorial. Also, I'm fairly certain the campaign has many places where you need to break a box in order to continue(the one that's clogging the water pump, for example).

I wanted to post the Anon stuck on the blue barrels part of Half Life 2 but I can't find it.
>>714041778 They aren't very fun when you have an IQ of 60 so you just end up running in circles, getting lost, and accidentally finding things occasionally. The best first person games usually have excellent exploration as well, games like System Shock 1+2, Heretic, Jedi Knight series,.
>>714041874 >nu God of War and probably many other modern games were designed around DSP I wonder if he's aware that his low IQ fucked games forevermore.

>>714042104 Every time this topic get brought up, I'm reminded that other people get lost in games all the time, because I swear it never happens to me. I don't think I'm a better person because of it, I just don't relate at all. How do people forget where they just were like 1-2 minutes prior?
>>714042104 No they dont. The worst first person shooters have exploration.

Have you noticed you can literally never make a thread about any decently old game without choruses of "zoomie zoomie zoomie"? It makes discussion impossible
>>714042410 There are games with moments where it's normal to get lost, Hexen or Jedi Outcast have some moments, but they make the games more fun. You have to remember that 50% of the population is below average intelligence.

>>714042684 If DOOM didn't have level design and it was just corridors filled with demons it would suck.
>>714041874 If Valve were still making single player games, they'd call DSP for beta testing in a heartbeat knowing how much they love getting feedback from retards. Now that I think about it, they probably still wouldn't call him. He'd leak info about the game within a few hours

>>714042649 Generation Z and A shouldn't be allowed on the internet, and if they are, they're automatically banned.
>>714042829 I know they're annoying, but what's even worse is people not being able to accept any discussion or criticism because a game/film is a certain age

>>714043327 No you fucking ironic retard, it's a legit thing, especially with film If you dare criticise or even don't suck the dick of some beloved old film, then you don't even get listened to There is definitely a sacred cow culture
>>714043420 Gen Zs and As are the ones saying shit like "dis old film citizen kane is clunky af bruh" instead of "Hey, /tv/. I'm interested in watching Citizen Kane. Any advice before I watch it since it's an 84 year old film."
>>714043292 It's not even jank, it's intuitive. I learned to crouch jump on my own in another game before I even played Half-Life because it feels like that's something that should happen since crouching bends your knees.

if i hadn't grown up with these games i don't think i would have figured out the NPC follow AI in blue shift and opposing force + numerous mods. their pathing breaks constantly and they run away from you. it's dogshit.

>>714049342 wall-hugging was more of a doom thing half-life bluntly teaches you to jam E/smack the shit out of everything you don't understand right out the gate because that is the answer to absolutely everything
