Most of Chapter 1 is a slog, it's not terrible but it is super repetitive. Things open up much more in Chapter 2 and I feel it's certainly worth it to stick with it till then.

Its a slower paced game. TTRPGs aren't for everyone. It took me a couple attempts to finally match the game's tempo and settle into it, but I'm glad kept trying. Its a good story and the gameplay is fun and deep once you're engaged enough with it.

I played it recently and while I enjoyed it I do think its massively overrated. People act like its the best srpg ever made. Hell even Triangle Strategy mogs it in every way save for perhaps story.

Haven't played FF 1, 2, 3, 5, 11, 12, 15, or 16.
I lost interest in 4.
6 was pretty good.
7 was good.
8 was boring.
9 was so ugly that I turned off the game in less than 10 minutes and never played it again.
10 was good, but I stopped playing for some reason. (I should finish that game -- it's been a decade since I've played it...)
13 was not as bad as people say. You just need to be high to enjoy it properly.
14 is okay if you have friends.

Tactics is great. It takes too long if you don't have emulator speed-up, though. First Lucavi fight is the kind of crazy difficulty that I'm looking for in an RPG. I was disappointed when the game failed to surprise me again.

Everything has way more hp than it needs. Makes every 5 minute battle take 25 mins with multiple turns of literal just wailing on beefy niggas

I'm gen x and i own a copy for the PS1 which i bought about 20 years ago.
It's a terrible game that relies on grinding to unlock good boy points just to spend them on the moves you need to play the game - the moves that should be unlocked by default.

Nice music by hitoshi sakimoto but it's a fucking terrible video game.

I'm not a fucking faggot and it's in the top 3 of best Final Fantasies ever made.

Main problem with Strategy RPGs is that, for some fucking stupid reason, all of them start you WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY far from the "action" and you spend time just trying to make contact with the enemy.
Honestly, i was replaying Triangle Strategy and i can say that it's pure kino, but my main complaint after replaying it is that some battles are spent just with you going 2 or 3 turns just trying to get everyone to their places.

One thing devs still haven't done in any SPRG i've played is an option to select a handful of units and move them all at once. Just cut down the fat would be a blessing for these games.
