>Releases tomorrow
Will it be a big hit or fall short?
>free to play
Dead within a year
it'll be fairly popular but probably won't maintain big long term numbers, at least in the west simply for being mecha
the demo did well which is promising, but the game will have to have good gameplay balance, as well as a good balance between content and microtransactions
>>714053112>at least in the west simply for being mechaThat's an old stereotype, it's a growing market now.
>>714053331how many mecha games are being released this year?
>>714053558I have over a dozen on my steam wishlist. I used to have three.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P6oEZ1v1SMI
>>714053112there's plenty of mecha games, most are just shit or do something retarded and kill themselves
people still enjoy giant robots punching each other
>>714053897I'm curious, do you have any names?
>>714054170mecha games exist, but it's still not a popular genre
>>714052456 (OP)>no old Gen support>needs high end computerCannot form a large community, will not live long
>Mecha game in a western economy dominated by niggers and jeets looking mostly into dudebro and gacha games
It's going to be niche
Ausbro here is there oceanic servers?
>>714054684Been a while since the beta so don't quote me but IIRC there was an oceania server
>Tried to copy Overwatch but they overtuned tanks so hard it becomes impossible to kill tanks unless your whole team shoot at them for 15 seconds, and simply having just one or two good tank players who know what the fuck they're doing can literally carry the game and single handedly wins you the match
>Force you to play a timesink mode that nobody likes for currency to lock stuffs
>Randomly fill lobbies with bots that comes with aimbot and wallhack especially on higher rank games
>Occasional 999 ping making half the match unplayable
Ya. Zero hype for full release
They need to tone down the audio, entering mech is just cacophony of random "mecha" sounds for no fucking reason, they sound cool and shit but everything needs moderation, chinks dont know the "less is more" rule, they'll just cram every effect known to man just to get noticed. A bit more subtlety to the whole game would go a long way.
>>714052456 (OP)yes but only because i really liked playing falcon and eating every aquila i came across
>>714053112I love mecha games but most of them are genuinely just outright bad. As a kid I put 100s of hours into Zoids Vs. (Zoids: Battle Legends in the west), and it was awesome. Also there were two sequels and they never got portes to the west, which is NOT awesome. Give me a new Zoids Vs., a new Custom Robo, shit i'll take a new SRW: Original Generation game
its like 3rd on the public wishlist.
>needs a high end computerjust turn down the graphics pleb. I kind of expect this to be like Eternal Return, where the native audience is far larger than the western one.
>>714055008just install the kernal level anti-cheat :^)
>>714054531It's partially gacha, has microtransactions and battle pass and that's why it will shit the bed.
>>714055627Did you ignore all the news they've been putting out the last month? Mods are restricted to Mashmak only and can only be farmed from there.
>>714052456 (OP)Depends on the monetization. Compare it to that gundam hero shooter game that died in like a year cause of aggressiveness on milking it's player base.. These kind of competitive games needs it's F2P fodder base much more than other gacha.
>>714056019Or GBO2, which was put up an a near unplayable state and then they just left it to die. GBO2 has more negative reviews than many games get at all. Bandai are the kings of killing their own games for no good reason. Either of those could've been very successful online pc mech games.
>>714055984but they unnerfed skyranger so im happy
>Kernel Level anti-cheat
eh
I DON'T CARE ABOUT ANYTHING ELSE, NOT EVEN THE FUCKING COST TO BUY MACHINES
DID THEY FUCKING FIX THE GODDAMN FUCKING BOT ISSUE OR NOT
>>714052456 (OP)>steam deck verifiedI'll check it out. No way in hell am I downloading this chink shit on my pc though.
>>714056981we don't know, but they're making a lot of changes based on user response so far
hey just the fact that Alysnes automatically counterattacks on parry is an extremely thoughtful change. these devs love this game.
>>714057305That sounds like AIDS, melee was already just parry spam since the window is so wide, being guaranteed to eat a shield ignoring hit just makes fighting one even more of an exercise in frustration than it already was.
Oh thank fuck, the pre-load is up. I was worried I'd have to download 50gb at launch.
>>714057038yeah, weren't the two betas massively different from each other? I didn't play the second cuz my life was shit at that time but that's what I heart. I assume it'll be no different now.
>>714056981Lol, lmao, even. Enjoy grinding for 20 hours to get out of bot rank, and then getting your shit pushed in by unkillable heavies or what I think the new meta is going to be, melee cancer due to the new attack cancelling feature that makes all melees as fast as fliers.

>>714058626yeah but this one has ass
>>714055008>impossible to kill tanksYour energy weapons bro? They shopt through shields
>>714058351it was AIDS on the receiving end before when successfully parrying someone with Alysnes gave you literally nothing useful. the best you could do against a Panther was stall.
>>714058778also to add, it might only be Alysnes that counterattacks on parry. I don't remember the other strikers having that.
>>714052456 (OP)It will probably be a decently large launch although it's very reliant on the Chinese player base and it will have fast threads but slowly die after a few months. It's a alright game so I can't see it failing unless they mess up badly somehow.
what mecha should i use if I just wanna be a team player and have everyone love me
>>714058845is it fair to say it's gonna do as well as Mechabellum, which is also dominantly Chinese
>>714058856the healer strikers in the game seem to be extremely fun
What's better? Falcon or Skyraider?
>>714058880I roll my eyes at the Pinaka air drop. Only Striker that seems to have an ability to summon a physical entity form low orbit
>>714054684There were a few servers with english players in the beta but most of the people I ran into were Chinese/Japanese/Korean.
>>714058946From what I remember in the last beta, Falcon is strictly better in every way. Shame since I think Skyraider looks cooler. Hope he got buffed.
>>714059384their reveal was today

Why is it mechA?
Why is there an A at the end of the word mech?
>>714059721What do you think the work mech means?
>>714059735mech is shortened for mechanized I guess?
I'm gonna be honest it feels the same as some of the overly enthusiastic weebs injecting nipspeak into english.
>>714059721>In science fiction, mecha (Japanese: ใกใซ, Hepburn: meka) or mechs are giant robots or machines, typically depicted as piloted, humanoid walking vehicles. The term was first used in Japanese after shortening the English loanword 'mechanism' (ใกใซใใบใ , mekanizumu) or 'mechanical' (ใกใซใใซใซ, mekanikaru), but the meaning in Japanese is more inclusive, and 'robot' (ใญใใใ, robotto) or 'giant robot' is the narrower term.Literally "Mechanical Robot" shortened to "Mecha"
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mecha
>>714059830Mech and mecha are the same thing taken from japs loan-wording mechanical as a genre name. At this point it doesn't matter, people just use either word interchangeably. Anyone who's into mecha is because of gundam either way, or something that was inspired by gundam. It's a pretty weeb genre from top to bottom.
>>714058962there's this new striker called Serenith that calls in some sort of orbital beam
>>714060358that can hurt allies too. Such a troll mech
>tomorrow
>44 hours away
You have a funny understanding of the word "tomorrow".
What games will satiate my Zone of the Enders itch I've been carrying for 20 years?
>>714061143I don't think there are any
>>714059419>>714059384>They buffed recharge speed and max energy It's good that they buff skyraider so you no longer shoot and then have to afk for 10 seconds waiting for your abilities to come off cooldowns. But the video is deceiving because it does not represents the problem skyraider is having in 6v6 scenarios. In the video the skyraider is just shooting individuals to showcase its damage potential which looks amazing, but in reality one of the major problem about playing skyraider is that every game has a Tricera that hunker downs on an objective, and Tricera comes with a passive mini turret which automatically shoots down any hostile missile projectiles which accounts for like 70% of a skyraider's damage. So unless they change how it works, a skyraider is still not going to be an "AoE aerial bombardment objective DPS" mech like they want it to be, and it's better to play skyraider as a wannabe falcon harassing isolated enemy in 1v1 in some random corner of the map
I wonder if there are any retards in this thread who are complaining but are still giving Blizzard money.
If you are, stop. The reason why even dying entertainment companies are slow-walking changes to their company cultures is for the simple reason that this is what the people who are currently in charge want entertainment to be. The only way to destroy the moral authority of the wokoids in the business world and make currently taboo conversations about the hiring practices of the past 10-20 years, catering directly to """toxic"" masculinity, etc. is to make them feel like the alternative to not having those conversations is scarier. They need to be uncomfortable. And that won't happen so long as their finances are healthy.
>>714065436Thought I was in a different thread.
If Snowbreak had these kinds of animations, it'd still be relevant.
