Please /v/ tell me this controller is uncomfortable for you too... I just got this as my Pro 1 controller is beginning to get a sticky A button but for some reason damn edge of the joystick caps for the Pro 2 is really digging into my thumb to a point where I have to question if it's just me.

The Dualsense is designed with a rounder edge for the joystick caps and the Xbox joystick caps are concave so even if the edge is thin, my thumb doesn't really press onto the edge to make a full rotation of the joystick, so there's no problem there. It's just this damn $94 controller that has this issue for me. Anyone else notice this?

With all the complaints of joystick drift I haven't had any issues with the joysticks, other than the subpar rubber material that is used for the caps.

I think how much you enjoy certain controllers depends on how big your hands are. If you have small lady-like hands then bigger controllers probably aren't for you

I like it more than the Dualsense Edge. Lightweight, easy to use unobtrusive back buttons, melts in your hands, quiet. My only complaint is that my thumb skin scratches the shit out of the stick.

I think it's just you. Do you push thumb sticks from the edge instead of having your thumb centered?

I'm not trying to trying to troll at all; How are the thumbsticks digging into your thumb? It doesn't make sense to me. The thumbsticks are really smooth to me no matter what angle you play with them at.

Thank you for confirming my suspicions. I recently got to hold a Pro 2 conteoller and it felt cheap to me but the design was still basically the same so I assumed maybe I was wrong. Can you still use the Pro 1 on the Switch 2?

Well, when I rotate either joystick 360 degrees I tend to press my thumb against the "edge" of the ring that goes around the middle flat pad of the joystick cap. Since this ring is thin and stiff I believe it creates a small pressure point where when I press my thumb onto it, it becomes uncomfortable after a period of time. It doesn't help that this ringed edge has several thinner rubber rings behind it that don't particularly enhance my grip but unfortunately add to the discomfort.

Yep the "Pro 1" controller does work just find with the Switch 2, aside from not being able to wake the Switch 2 with the Home button.

I used a friend's. Played all of the Link's Awakening remake with it. It's fine. Dpad sucks cock, but so does every dpad in an asymmetrical controller. Otherwise, it's pretty standard. Battery life was amazing. I only had to charge it once or twice for the week that I had it

People shit on 8bitdo a lot, but I genuinely love their controllers
>Pro 2 is $50
>has gyro
>has back buttons
>now comes with hall effect sticks
>rechargeable battery is easily removable and can be replaced with AA batteries
>symmetrical
>firmware update lets you use it on the Switch 2
It's a no brainer and a genuinely good controller

Despite all the memes and the system itself having mediocre battery life Nintendo is still amazing at controller battery life, I actually don't remember when the last time I charged my Switch 1 pro controller was.

If they actually did address stick drift in some way (it kinda looks like they just slapped a dust jacket and miniaturized some components on the joycon 2 sticks but who knows it might be enough) then I couldn't care less really.

What do you mean? Like Steam will recognize it as it's own controller and not an xbox or switch one? In any case, I hope a pro 3 won't sacrifice the interchangeable battery. I'm also not a big fan of the docks they've been doing recently

>>714058717
My go to controller at the time was a Dualshock 4, so I was blown away by how good the Switch controller's battery was. I had to charge the DS4 so often, might as well have been a wired controller

Yeah Steam will recognize it as its own bespoke controller and all hardware features are available. Normally XInput disables gyro and Switch mode disables analog triggers, Dinput over Steam Input has both, back buttons and screenshot/home buttons are also configurable without needing 8bitdo's software.

As a general rule, all first party controllers are hot garbage. I'm not a turdie shill, but third party chink controllers completely shit on the competition; more features, more comfortability at sometimes half the price.

I don't know why we ended up here, but it's simply the truth.

Mmmm no, I like everything about the controller except that the dpad is overly sensitive to diagonals. Still better than the switch 1 pro in that regard, but frustrating they didn't fix it fully.

>the absolute worst dpad in the entire history of dpads
>best anything
the dpad was unusable outside item quick select slop that the 360 generation started
the series x controller is literally just that except with a usable dpad
