When do you move on from a world? I love RimWorld but i feel like the game starts to become less fun the more you advance in it.
At one point you can just have turrets everywhere to stop most invasions, you have a heating/cooling system, you can heal everyone's wounds and even resurrect them etc.
Struggling at the beginning and middle is peak RimWorld, but after you researched most things it becomes kinda pointless.

Is it possible to wipe factions out?
Like if I raid all of their bases will I just stop getting raided?

I imagine the dlc is them trying to address this issue where once your colony is decently set up you kind of just sit there and gather materials and XP ad infinitum
the anomaly threats can do a decent job of breaking up the safety of even the most well fortified base but since you have to essentially opt into the stuff that can really threaten you its still the player choosing to make themselves vulnerable
as an aside I still fucking hate devourers

having the gravship where you can bring your base with you to make settling somewhere else less painful and adding player shuttles will assuage the game's issue of there being rarely any good reason to ever send out caravans to interact with the wider world but I don't see it being a complete solution yet, maybe after mods build on its foundation in a few months

threat scaling just needs to be tweaked because the main problem with end game is that you want most of your colonists around to be on call when 50+ fucking raiders enter the map
it needs some sort of system where after a certain raid point threshold it starts prioritizing arming raiders with better gear over spamming more bodies just to overwhelm and tire out your colony
100 raiders lagging out the game is bad enough without half of them bringing broken revolvers and stone knives
thats the shit that made people start building killboxes because it either becomes unmanageable or just completely unfun and killboxes are the closest to just being able to skip raid altogether without deleting everything in dev mode

I've been on the fence about buying Rimworld during this steam sale, but having to put even more money on dlc for the full experience is off-putting.
What dlc is best and which can be skipped?

Also can you go Robotnikpilled and create a colony of only one guy with an army of robots?

biotech is probably the most impactful on its own but the implants from royalty are also very sought after
there's a specific starting scenario in biotech where you're just one guy with some starter robots but its probably better to learn the game a little before trying that
you could always just pirate everything off gog or at most buy the base game on steam so you can more easily download stuff off the workshop and then just shove the files into the gog copy
that's what I do to get a feel for dlcs and decide whether I can put up with just waiting for a sale

Don't buy the DLCs, you can easily download the DLCs online and install them on the Steam version and they work flawlessly, even with mods from the workshop. They don't make either the game or DLC much cheaper during sales, so fuck them. But, desu, just the base game for a newcomer will give you dozens of hours, if not hundreds of hours of gameplay.

Play on Randy, commitment mode, strive to survive and up and you won't need to "move on"
Randy will make damn sure he's the one to end it

Find a quest, you're in the sandbox now.
I just keep deleting worlds and starting new obes after tweaking my set of mods, adding and removing some

Only if you don't use a killbox, with a killbox everything is trivialized.

>make my self-insert colony leader and his waifu at game start
>one of them dies
>restart
>repeat for 200 hours
I've never once beaten the game or even made it a meaningful way down the tech tree.

He can still find ways to fuck you over
Drop in raids, sieges, megaspider infestations, mechanoid clusters you need to leave your base to deal with
Randy usually likes to do MULTIPLE of these at once, sprinkled with some other crap like diseases, psychic drones, and others

I do the same, but for more time:

>Sanguophage scenario with Highmate
>Don't recruit anyone else
>Repeat if someone dies

I love this game.
