I was hoodwinked a number of times with the PC versions being some educational garbage. The biggest ones were spongebob/toy story .Im in the mood for a Zelda clone. Is the Xbox one decent? Goblet of fire?

the gameboy color RPG was actually a really competent and deep rpg. For rpg standards anyway. It was weird they put so much effort into it, they're easily the best Harry Potter videogames to ever exist. As a fully fledged videogame realization of the wizarding world from the books it still hasn't been beaten either, yet at least. Which is kind of sad when you think about it, all the data is like 6MB in total or something

Why did they make a specific Xbox version?

someone said that the GBC game was fascinating because it was a creation of hogwarts before anyone had seen the movies. so it was like a slice of time when people were interpreting harry potter based only off the books and not the movies.

Why was it when I played certain mini-games I would get house points and other times I wouldn't get it?

yeah, and it was huge too. The movies are such a small slice of the books with so much cut out, and the books themselves don't have a lot in them and most worldbuilding details are throwaway lines. The GBC games are cool because of how it tries to flesh out as much as they can with what they had to work with. They're the only games operating on the kind of scale that I think the IP benefits from, and it's a real shame that nothing since has bothered

I remember some of the super early pre-movies merch than was out there. I think I had a board game where the art for the characters was all slightly different to what you would expect.

>in the book and movie Harry destroys the diary with basilisk's fang
>in the GBC game he does it with the Griffindor's sword for some reason
>years later it turns out the diary was a horcrux and one the few things that could destroy it was the sword

Coincidence?
