My accent is a mongrelized into a hodge podge of burger/british/french. No one can really tell where I'm from but it's painfully obvious I'm not a native. Doesn't bother me that much until some dude has a melty and use my nationality as an insult because butthurt got to him.

Same, except they are russians that except I'm russian because of my accent (which I adopted as a joke like 15 years ago and now unconciously speak with most of the time) and start speaking in russian, to which I answer by starting to blabber on in finnish.
Most of the time they keep on talking amongst each other in russian and I end up having to mute them.

Incidentally we're so good at picking out german accents specifically because it's one of the more familiar (and distinct) ones to us. Picking out a romance language accent on the other hand, almost total crapshoot other than french.
