Why in fuck did SSX die? Where is the next SSX game? SSX Reboot seemingly topped sales charts when it came out, so wasnt' a flop.
It's bizarre one of the biggest and most beloved franchises of the 2000s just disappeared without a peep.

It's pretty cool the creator of Snowboarder Cross literally made video games about the sport he invented, said video games widely being considered the best in their genre.

Tricky is the most overrated entry in the series. Only one and done fans like it, shit was nothing more than a tech demo proof of concept for ssx3 which is a literal 10/10 game.

Also the SSX reboot did flop. It was supposed to be a long standing entry but they closed the servers down pretty quick the game was mostly online only iirc and the maps were ok but overall the game kinda sucked. They'll never repeat their sucess because they don't know what made ssx3 great. There was also more snowboarding games being released at the same time which just did better overall and stagnated the market.

>Why in fuck did SSX die?
Every single sports game like this died. It's not exclusive to SSX. Tony Hawk is the biggest one and died too. Riders Republic is the last "big" extreme sports game and no one cares about it.

Unironically I think video games killed peoples interest in this stuff. Extreme Sports aren't seen as that cool, people just play video games now instead.

Who said tricky was the problem? I said it was a shit game. Maybe if you actually read instead of trying to farm the attention your dad refused you growing up you wouldn't be a fat fucking retard larping as a woman. Go join the 41% you're wasting oxygen someone with more than 13 iq points could be using.

EA Sports BIG died. They got absorbed into regular EA Sports. Blame EA.

It didn't matter how good the games were, franchises and studios were dying left and right during this gen. Midnight Club L.A. and Burnout Paradise deserve sequels too but all we will get are gay remakes. see Tony Hawk as well.
This reboot was pretty bad though. Story mode takes a few hours to beat and you don't even get close to fully upgrading a character. The descents range from ok to terribly gimmicky. It doesn't even control well at high speed cause there is so much magnetism to where the game wants you to land

Same. I don't know why the SSX community hates this game. Probably the aesthetics. It had great mountains

SSX is way too fun, lively, creative, and unique for today's desolate husk of an industry. The 2012 reboot was already soulless, imagine how garbage a modern iteration would be. I'm glad it hasn't been brought back, if anything, just to spare it from being molested by the faggots at EA. Sometimes, dead is better.
Also, Allegra is my wife

EA doesn't make anything that doesn't have 5+ million unit sales potential. Burnout is dead, dead space is dead, Titanfall is dead, dragon age is probably dead too. These are series alongside ssx that have enough brand power to shift well over 1-2 million units but are still too small for ea.

EA can't even get us one piece of major news update for Skate 4 since its reveal in 2020, why do you think they're capable of making a new SSX?

Because it has too much color/fun and isn't Call of Duty.

Snowboarding and skiing fell out of style and was always a rich kid thing anyway. They tried to reboot it in Gen VII but it sucked.

The aesthetics were a big part of it, but the design choices of going back to level based after 3's open mountain, the worthless addition of skiing, the vastly inferior soundtrack, and the general lower quality of the tracks were all really important. It's personal and irrational, but this was the last thing I bought at Media Play before it went out of business, so that adds to my disdain.

SSX3 is open world slop.
Play it now and tell me you couldn't care less when you see you have 0/50 money snowflakes on the current course, that you have 8 or so stats to max and you have to physically ride into the correct shop on the correct peak to buy a specific cosmetic, and you can't even go to the other two peaks for hours.

Tricky is pick up and play and you hate that.

Emulated it 2 months ago with some HD patch I found on leddit. I beat every mainline race/ trick event unlocked some cool cosmetics maxed out stats and then called it. It's not "open world slop" the game is linear in 1 direction. A racing game having a free roam with side objectives is very normal. Still a 10/10

>you can't even go to the other 2 peaks for hours.

It takes 2 first place wins on 3 races to unlock the peak race to move on. You can even opt to do trick races instead it's like 45m to unlock a new zone in that game that's why there's like 12 characters you can replay the game on. It takes like 4-6 hours to beat the whole thing assuming you're just doing instanced races and tricks. Are you retarded or something?

Snowboarding was never in style, you have to live in a specific location to even have access to it.
