This article isnt particularly about Nintendo. It’s about how the author thinks all consoles are dead because of Roblox and Fortnite. Basically the same story we’ve heard from analysts for 15+ years since the iPhone launched and MS and Sony were sure that the PS4 and XBone were going to be the last consoles.

The Switch 2 is the "last" of its kind cuz everyone is going to exclusively play mobile games while consoles and pissy become obsolete... in the author's dreams.

Sony is fucked because they ported their games.
It's their xbone moment. Everything we've seen since then, Concord, all the live service rot. It's eating them up from the inside. You NEED exclusives, it's that simple

I do agree consoles are on its last legs if software sales are anything to go by. Games are not selling regardless of quality. The only games that sold really well in recent years was because of China. And this is something that should be of everyone's concern because once consoles are gone AAA games will disappear along with it. Everything will be Chinese gacha slop and live service games, and maybe some indies... I genuinely believe not even GTA6 will do as well as everyone are anticipating.

Nintendo publishes their hardware sales figures with their financial reports. The next quarterly report is in August, but will only encompass the last 25 days of June, since that's the end of the first fiscal quarter. The next official update to that figure will be in November, though they may or may not disclose sales in press releases in between.
