Did you like the combat? It's more of that. You get new weapons and new magic.

In the dlc you play as the baker's daughter (who you might remember is a caster)
It has an even stronger focus on magic and not so much on auto attacking and its a rogue lite, similar to the post game dungeon
My main gripe was that on the highest difficult there were rooms that would murder you just as you entered, the balance was a bit whack
It wasn't nearly as satisfying as the main game but i will buy anything this dude puts up, he earned it.
That said i played it like a year after the base game, might be a bit too much astlibra to play the dlc right after the main game

If you like the combat and don't mind the procedurally generated final dungeon that you're soon to arrive at then it's decent, since Gaiden is more of that.

Magic is op in Baker's Daughter Bizarre Adventure. My main gripe is that, by virtue of being random roguelike esque, farming becomes a bit of a pain since you have to find the correct enemy and pray he drops the item you want.
Other than that, i think its cool. Yeah, bit derivative, but it's fine. And i like the final twist, a much deserved happy ending.

I'm at where the MC transported to the future and fought a mecha.

It would have been cool if you killed the medieval guy with the mech and then it became a Muramasa sequel

this is the first game that's truly scratched my itch for more Ys, and it's actually better than half of them

More kino combat and a little bit of extra story that fits nicely into the main story. Glad you like it anon, it's really a special experience

I finished the campaign, still have it installed, but haven't done the post-story continuation.

You unironically didn't beat the game. The story gets even more crazy like you can't even imagine. I'd highly advise you to finish it anon

Its a surprising continuation of the story starting from partway in, but its mostly just the boring rng dungeons from the end. Not bad though.

>>714100793
Boy howdy you were tricked into thinking NG+ was NG+ and not a bait and switch that's actually the rest of the game.

For all the things people say about this game, it's really not all that.
The combat is a chore and the ending was kinda meh.

The game has an exponentially increasing enjoyment level. In the beginning I thought it's kinda interesting and from there it went to alright to cool to great to kino to WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK IS GOING ON THIS IS THE GREATEST THING EVER

Should I buy the basic game without DLC first?

Yes, the DLC isn't until after the game is over anyway, if you get that far then you'll know if you even want the DLC or not.

>>714104186
Understandable. Chapter 1 and 2 is such a fucking slog, but if you aren't at least a little bit hooked by the combat then you won't like the rest either.

The DLC is completely separate from the base game so you wouldn't notice a difference while playing. If you meant you're unsure whether you'd really like the game enough to also play the DLC, you could just get the base game now and in the worst case you "lose" like 2 bucks if you decide to buy it after the sale

my only complaint with this game is that the npc party members they give you mostly just make the game harder because they spam the screen in projectiles and make it hard to see the enemy spamming projectiles in whats already a game with very subtle attack animations
