You saw this in the Wii days as well, and the Switch 1, where certain people kept having issues with Nintendo and "just not getting enough out of it". It's a sign that the nostalgia-years of your 20s are over and you no longer get value out of seeing your childhood memories repeated. As you hit 30 you just get frustrated that this company is, and has always been, repeating what they did in the 80s.
Nintendo is just repeating old successes with slight variations and they keep it sanitized and kid friendly. At some point that does make you feel like a manchild, and when you discover that, you start hating it.
