Have you ever played with a friend who doesn't have any game sense? I'm not sure there's a worse feeling.

Depends on the map. Flanking her isn't as easy as before due to recent buffs but yeah, instant one shot with no drawback is pretty broken (scope only use 5 amo and charge back to 100% within a few sec lmao)

What even is game sense and how do you acquire it?

It's just knowledge about the game, an understanding of how it's played, what your role is in a given match, what your enemies are doing (or should be doing) before you see them, where you should be positioning, what's your target priority, what heroes you should be playing to counter their line-up.
It's mostly just something you should pick up naturally over time by paying attention and learning as you play. I don't want to say it's definitely the case, but it seems to be an IQ issue for people that don't learn it.

It's knowing where you are in the map and anticipating where the enemies are, too.

it means knowing things without visual or audio queue due to experience. i.e. their tracer is not visible in this fight, she is probably flanking or knowing roughly how far an enemy hero is from ulting. the type of thing you pick up on by playing

I don't think I could ever get into team games or RTS, I'm more of a fighting game guy

These people are 100% incorrect btw.
Game sense is just playing a lot of video games and understanding the tropes and usual fallback design decisions that devs go in on. It is things like starting an FPS game and immediately turning around and going backwards and finding a secret because lots of devs do that. Or it is going a while without an enemy appearing so assuming one will be around the corner. Or when you see a bunch of ammo + health you know a big fight is coming. Or when you see a long, seemingly empty hallway it is likely a trap.

It really is just knowing tropes. You can even develop this for films, books, etc.

That's stupid, it doesn't mean they're wrong, it just means that game sense can mean different things depending on the context of the game you're playing.
Do you think it should be called "Battle IQ" like that other anon suggested?

No, I think Game Sense is fine because while it is different for different genres it still is just general gaming experience.

Good post that provides a nuanced description and not just "hurr durr IQ!!!!"

Not saying IQ has no impact on someone's ability to acquire game sense, before you faggots try dogpiling me. There's just more too it than that single factor alone.
