It's okay but there are too many walls (one big one requires you to max limit break 5 characters of SSR rarity which takes a good amount of time).

Its unironically one of the most f2p friendly gacha I've ever played. I've been able to get every single character I wanted with multiple hard pity tickets saved up if I ever get in a pinch, and the ones I have to skip are only temporary because they get added to the standard banner (where you can target summon them) after a month or so of their launch.

That said, "getting into Nikke" is hard to recommend. The gameplay is pretty dog ass. The entire point of the game is to goon and to read cute little short stories with each news character introduced, and cute minigames. As well as the overall campaign story which very slowly progresses. If any of that appeals to you its a solid game that isn't too demanding on time or effort. If you're looking for something to actually play as a game though its probably not it.

I'm getting the impression the game will wall you if you get unlucky rolls. I got some good units (according to metafaggotry) at the beginning and even then am struggling to clear the catch up with the campaign.
I don't know if that's because i'm a F2P shitter or just a shitter that doesn't know how to play.

It plays more like an idle clicker than it does time crisis up until a point.

You'll naturally progress as long as you log in and claim rewards, however slow.

So what do you do to get geared up in this game? I'm nearing the 160 wall. Trickles of gear from Intercepts for improvements, occasional collectable for a character, upgrade their skills, is that about it? Cubes need some monthly solo raid that breaks and expects me to already have high numbers, what else is there? Seeing people in events with ten times my numbers, I have to be missing something.

You pretty much just chill at the wall until you pass it organically. It might take a while but it will happen. The resources you accumulate while waiting aren't wasted. You're effectively still leveling up your characters once you hit the wall, you'll just get the results all at once when you pass the wall.

Amass as much core dust as you can. Event challenges (highest difficulty you can manage) and event stage 11 repeated 5x per day. Its the main bottleneck after you get past the wall.
If you can farm yellow manufacturer gears or rocks from intercept prior to the wall (its been a while I don't remember) then getting those for all your main characters is a good investment.
And if you aren't in a union try and find one (even if its just some randoms). You'll get the cube stuff from union raids much more than solo raids (which is more for dolls)

The game isn't so sweaty that it really matters, and afaik it routinely recalibrates groupings if you even care about the competitive modes.

comparing it to other gacha games I've played, it's a lot more free to play friendly. it does take forever to catch up on the story though, which is pretty frustrating. I'd say if you're interested, give it a shot. I like the story and the girls a lot

If you are unlucky and don't get busted nikkers like redhood or SBS you will have to wait slightly longer to be done with the current chapter. Considering you are waiting half a year for that anyway because Shitup sucks, does 1 more month of waiting because of shit nikkers really matter in the grand scheme?

It's pretty playable, you'll just need to come to terms with being permanently behind the top players in the competitive mode that doesn't matter too much. The story is pretty good, the only thing you're missing out on is the collab characters, which depending on the anime series, might be mildly irritating. Though, some events have returned, like Evangelion and Nier, so the others might come back at some point too.

There are a few systems to get SSR characters, and the vast majority of characters are SSR, so the odds of you getting them is pretty high too. You have your standard gacha currency, in this case gems, but also get given items to specifically choose SSR characters you want as well as items that have a 50% chance of dropping a particular teams SSR units. These items are tied to the gameplay, so as long as you keep advancing you can keep drawing.

There is also a skill element to some fights, even if you're way over the power cap. If you bring the wrong units, you wont succeed. RIP everyone getting filtered by Mother Whale.

3 star your units and put manufacturer specific gear on them. After maxing out the manufacturer gear, you can use items to "overclock" them, taking them to a higher level.

Target the characters in the 100pt draw first and wait for 3000 jimmies to get an SSR draw boost. If you draw closer to when the server reopens after maintenance, you get a higher chance to SSRs too. Make sure you regularly update your wishlist to characters close to being SSR so they get priority. Dont waste your gems on the SSR crystals in the shop, unless you're at a point where you're pointlessly accumulating gems. It's better to save for the 10 draws. Make sure to do the Tribe Tower daily and keep advancing it. Save your 50 pulls for just after server maintenance.
