I swear to god some companies are so retarded. I used to have an Amazon account that I decided to delete because I didn’t use it often I didn’t want the fucks to have my personal information on file. So I asked them to permanently delete my account and any information about me. They’re like ‘yep, no problem’, then 5 years pass and I try to make a new account with my email, and it says I can’t because it’s linked to another account. How the fuck is it linked to another account if all info about me should be purged from your systems? I call them up to try and set up a new account with that email, or at least reinstate my old account and I get told ‘oh sorry, you can’t reinstate the account because it’s been permanently deleted. You just have to make a new account using a new email’. Fucking cunts. Or how about google, randomly deciding to enforce 2FA using their app and only their app if you try to login in using an unfamiliar IP address even if you have 2FA turned off. It takes months for them to become familiar with your new IP address, and in the meantime you better pray to god you don’t accidentally log out of your app because even trying to log back in using the app requires 2FA using another device you’re automatically logged into. There’s no customer service to contact to assist you if this happens and you get locked out of your email forever. I think the only way to actually get around it is to answer every single one of their recover account questions. You need to give them and phone number AND a recovery email. A phone number alone is not enough despite them giving you the option to go with just one. Fucking morons. I hate them all.
