I have realized now, videogames need 4 elements.
Just like how music needs 4 elements.

Games are made of Combat, Dungeon Exploration, Town Stories and Collecting Tokens.

Those 4 are the fundamental elements of a videogame.

This is very wrong and you can list tons of examples of games that don't fit. Civilization V and Tribes: Ascend, for some examples.

Okay, so basically the opposite of the word "fundamental". "Optional". Yes, those four elements are things that can exist in a video game. Not really sure what the point of this thread is if that's all that's being said now.

Those four elements are from player psychology.

KILLERS, ARCHIEVERS, SOCIALIZERS, EXPLORERS.

Those are the 4 main types of gamers.
I just realized each want a specific type of gameplay.

combat, story, exploration, collection.
