NWN1 back in the day, when I played it with my friends and classmates. Never got to advanced stuff, like GM-managed modules online, or permanent RP realms. Just the official campaigns were enough for us.
Nowadays, probably BG3. It probably has more advanced GM/modding tools. Not that I know, I have yet to play through the original campaign myself.

Divinity OS is a pretty good D&D campaign sim
you chat with your main partner throughout, can argue with them, and build a typical fantasy party to go adventure with.
Even has some multi-person puzzles and other stuff.
