There are better kart games on PC. I actually bought a PS4 to play BB and then spent more time with Nioh and The Surge. I think pc gamers should have more ego, this game is good and so on, but it's not like the platform doesn't have games. And Sonic RBR is free and it's fucking great

I'm happy to just accept they didn't care to, anything else is an excuse
The game sold well but toddlers won't play multiplayer. So it's just a poor excuse not to port the game. Still, do pc gamers really need this game? Seeing the purchasing habits of PC gamers overwhelming prefer PC genres like RTS, Management, RPG's, FPS. With a few exceptions such as GTA (shooter), MHW (RPG) and Elden Ring (RPG).

>muh anticheat The game is host authoritative. What the host's machine says goes. What that actually means is that Activision was shitting their pants at the idea of people being able to get around the microtransactions.
>>714170745 Well since it's been years since Activision last even supported the game, wouldn't it make sense to put out a quick cheap "Ultimate Edition" PC port with everything unlocked? It wouldn't take that much dev time, and people clearly want it, cheaters be damned.

>>714166853 There isn't much of a proven history of kart racers doing well on PC. Other than Sonic Transformed having a legacy there I guess
>>714166359 (OP) Real reason is Activision didn't want people unlocking all the skins, which is exactly what everyone does on the Switch version on PC.
>>714174658 Rocket League did better on PC than when they originally released it on consoles. It's not a kart game, but people are open to different things. It's not just autistic simulators that thrive on PCs
>we have a bigger community on consoles so we won't make a PC version The community is bigger on console because they didn't make a PC version. This circular reasoning is self serving Just say you didn't have the budget to allocate any team members to work on porting. The issue is ultimately that Activision didn't have enough confidence in the product to give them bogo bucks in funding, so they worked with what they had.
>>714176445 So, the original game is Supersonic, a console exclusive that flopped because, like, most indies didn't do the best numbers on consoles. When they released it on PC, they finally got the public's attention. Which bounced back so that the console releases were finally successful

Wasn't there a leak of a port being done for current-gen consoles and PC with a couple new characters?
>>714174658 Sonic is really weird as a concept. Sonic Racing is a spin-off that has nothing to do with sonic besides Sonic skins and is far worse than any big competitors of the same genre on all fronts. Yet it sold 50% more than goddamn Warhammer 3, THE mainline of its genre (and at least I regard themepark racing games more niche than strategy games). You'd imagine Sonic would be dead and buried by now, but for some reason every time a new Sonic game/movie is released no matter the theme or quality, it gets gobbled up like hot cakes.
>>714180091 Toddlers dont give a fuck about Sonic. They dont even know what it is. To them its just a random BuggleGo Racing. Thats why its so interesting.
>>714180091 tbf, show Sonic to any kids and they will be able to name him. Now, Crash, on the other hand, none will be able to know who the fuck he is.

One thing everyone is forgetting is that at the time "PC port" for a Crash game meant a Battle.net release, not a Steam release. It wasn't until years later that Crash 4 came out on Steam too. So they were probably right to assume that a PC version wouldn't have sold that well since it'd be both a kart racer and exclusive to a launcher other than Steam.

>>714186303 Odd, whenever I see baby Sonic perch out in the wild like the mall or conventions, I literally only see Sonic, Tails, Knuckle's, or Amy and my brother said he had to put the Shadow merch away at my nephew's Sonic birthday party because he scared some autistic girl.
>>714187318 There's a Sonic/Sega pop up store going across the US at the moment and all of the shadow plush's in that style are instantly sold out. >>714177117 Have items been implemented to this shit yet? Hell, have they patched any exploits out of tracks like Polar Pass or Papu's Pyramid? NF still had its own problems with spedrunners but at least you had a fighting chance at catching up to them thanks to both of these factors
>>714189978 Those shortcuts aren't going away, they're perfectly fine. If you take issue with any unintended shortcuts from ps1 ctr, itd be hot air skyway and oxide station since those skip significant portions of the track
>>714192367 >Those shortcuts aren't going away, they're perfectly fine. Papu's Pyramid's shortcut skips the entire track if done right and Polar Pass's makes you completely impossible to reach if there are no other autists that wasted the same amount of time as you learning how to do that jump correctly, and that's the thing here, I want to think I'm not a sore loser by any means but I also sure as shit ain't spending time learning how to do every little exploit in the game to catch up to speds that get their rocks off by showing off, that shit's not fun

It's not too unusual to wait an extended period of time before porting things or giving a "complete" edition, especially when they want to milk microtransactions. I'll remain hopeful. Either we get a port finally, or some giga chad autist decomps it when I am 80 years old or some shit.
>>714194295 If Microsoft doesn't decide to make a PC release, then its likely over for good But we have the decompile of ps1 ctr as well as a standalone fangame* that already has modding support so it'll just be a matter of ripping the tracks out.
