It was because of the contrast with the OLED screen that Nintendo completely screwed up the Switch 2 screen. They realized they couldn't use an IPS panel like the ones you have dedicated to games, because they tend to compromise image quality in order to gain speed, which would make the contrast too negative compared to the Switch 1 OLED, so Nintendo decided to focus on the image quality of the screen, even screwing up the color calibration (which was good on the Switch 1), to create that more vibrant look that consumers love but developers and artists hate.
The result is this screen that looks good at first glance, but has an insanely high response time even when compared to LCD monitors dedicated to digital art, which tend to have the same problem, but are still 3x faster than the Switch 2 screen.

All LCD monitors, and even OLED, are terrible in this test. A CRT performs very well.
The only way a modern screen can have any quality in this test is with insane frame rates (240hz for example), and even then it may not be as good as a CRT because of technology limitations (again, even on OLED screens).

Typical IPS gaming monitors have 1000-1500:1 contrast ratio with far faster response times than the switch2 screen. There is zero reason they couldn't have custom ordered sub 16ms response time panels with ~1000:1 contrast ratio other than the fact that they wanted to save a few cents per unit. honestly I think the screen is fine, I didnt have a steam deck or switch 1, it seems fine for a LCD.

besides, the vast majority of the time you will be docked anyway. but for mobile, I am happy when playing games or classics on the nes/snes/etc. Yes OLED gives better blacks but it still looks pretty good.

How was this done you ask? By comparing the pixel movement through an ufo test video.
How did they do it on the switch 2 you ask if it has not been jailbroken and the official filmware has no internet browser? Through a youtube video, which downclocks the screen to 60hz to save battery (because no jewtube video goes over that anyway) like any game that doesn't use the full 120hz would.
The video even literally admits to the downclocking around 4:50 even, "Switch 2 60hz IPS LCD"

Also in the first place you can't even download the youtube app on the switch 2 as it has compatibility issues, to get it there you need to transfer it from a switch 1.
