I'm a Dark Souls 2 glazer but I legitimately have no retort against this. Seems like a very accurate dissection of why I'm afraid the next Non-Miyazaki Souls/Elden Ring universe will kinda suck.

>Vendrick is a total Chad that comes out of nowhere, kills the great Old ones, conquers many people and forces nearby Kingdoms to submit

Oh yeah, the idea of an absolute nobody rising from nothing and overcoming all the gods and superbeings has definitely not happened before in a Souls game, he's definitely not an analog of the player.

The player doesn't lead an army out of nowhere. Gwyn rises to power by obtaining the Lord Souls and using Soul transposition. Vendrick just happens to become ruler and with Drangleic having no history before that point

its not a world/plot as fleshed out/coherent/well realized than ds1, but it doesnt have to be
DS1 did its uniquely cool thing, ds2 is more focused on action, encounters and the smaller side stories like the DLCs. Id rather have that than an uninspired ass linear game where the plot is just "rememba dark souls 1??"
im also fond of SOTFS's ending where the guy just wants to keep looking for another way, neither dooming himself to repeat everything and become a giga hollowed nigga, or outright becoming a dank lord

i wouldnt ever bitch about its lore or plot because its not like its offensive or retroactively diminishes DS1's plot like that, its a more separate story. Im mad with a sequels' plot if its something that retroactively worsens or dumbs down the events of the first game, like Metro Last Light for instance

Dark Souls 3 is a great sequel that successfully manages to represent the events and social developments of a timespan of eras from the original game and how institutions changes.

You have to be some butthurt reductionist faggot to try to put down Dark Souls 3 because its story actually works and its world is actually fleshed out and full of mistique.
By comparison Dragon's Dogma 2 would later try and fail to do the same thing due to simply lacking the connections with the original despite the most basic on-your-face elements

Dark Souls 2 by comparison doesn't stand on its own feet and that's an objective fact that can be criticized. Why is Vendrick sadistically torturing hollow undeads with a flaming undead chariot exactly, especially when the game seems to later imply the same kind of undeads are buried in the Blackcrypt with proper respects, undisturbed by flames and guarded by gravewardens
It's fucking retarded and schizophrenic.

I don't like it just because I looked up in one of the rooms of poison windmill once and the ceiling was atrociously textured.

You're a clueless moron like all ds3 zoomers. Undead hunts in Copse were initiated by Old Iron King, which predates Vendrick. Not gonna bother with the rest of your garbage post faggot, go study Peak Souls lore.

>Key to the prison in Huntsman's Copse. The Undead hunts during the reign of the Old Iron King took place in this forest, and the cells in which the Undead were held still stand there to this day. However, the march of time has eroded any difference between the captors and the captives

This is surface-level information, moron. Anyone who played the game and doesn't have the memory of a goldfish knows this.

The same reason there are creatures from all over game world in Drangleic castle. Due to development troubles and time constraints devs had to reuse assets to fill in the castle. If you want to justify it from the lore perspective, then Vendrick collected all kinds of creatures and artifacts from surrounding lands to get more information how to fight the curse (all the statues in the Drangleic castle, including re-animatinig ones, etc)
