Profits from Mario Kart will make up for losses with the less popular games and the latter games (not necessarily DK) but the ones they can sell for $40 still won't ostracize people from buying them, destroying the consumer base.
If anything, MK World should have been released end of this month and DK out last month at launch. Maybe even reveal Pauline a week before launch and blow everybody's minds with the sudden new box art kek. It also softens the blow when people have discussed that MK World is going to be $80, but who knows how many people were roped into buying the MK World version of Switch 2 just to buy MK World cheaper
