I've been tempted for about a week to buy a Deck. Enlighten me.
The screen, is it high enough resolution for you? My Galaxy fold 6 has a higher res so it concerns me that things may look pixelated.
How's the battery? They say 3hrs for (i'm assuming) the hungriest games, is that accurate?
What's it like for usability of programs that aren't steam games? Emulators, web browsers and stuff like that? What about modding and pirated or non-steam games?
Is it comfy to use for long sessions? Controls look odd up there.
Are any add-ons like the dock a must have?

What's been a game you've appreciated being able to play on the Deck instead of just a PC? Or one that because of resource demand / functionality / genre you wouldn't have thought would be enjoyable on deck, but it is. Go on I don't need much persuassion, gimme reasons to get it.

The screen is fine for what it is. 800p may sound low, but the screen is only a little more than 7 inches. Plus the lower resolution means that you'll burn less battery. Get the OLED, because as someone who owns an LCD model, the difference is night and day.

Yup. 3 hours for the hungriest games (on the OLED). The LCD can only manage half that. Learn how to use TDP limits if you want to max out battery life.

99% of the time, you just add it to Steam and select a Proton version. Emudeck handles all the emulation parts. Web browsers are decent enough to use as you can use the trackpads for both scrolling and typing, but a keyboard is best if you really need to type.
>mods, pirating
Pirating is just as easy on Windows. Modding is iffy unfortunately - best workaround is just to copy and paste from a Windows install.
>controls
Really comfy. The buttons and d-pad are small, so your thumb can easily reach them from the sticks and trackpads. The d-pad is total dogshit though, so you'd need to replace it with a clicky pad if you want to play fighting or platformer games. The bumpers are also the same dogshit that Xbox controllers use unfortunately.

The trackpads and back buttons are the star of the show here, because you can programme them for whatever you need (READ: YOU CAN USE THEM FOR HOTKEYS FOR KEYBOARD HEAVY GAMES)

It's a little heavy on the hands, but quite manageable.

Just the official dock, a 2 terabyte SSD (optional) and the clicky buttons mod. Everything else is dependent on what you want.

Most indies and older AAA work flawlessly on the Deck. Recently I've been playing Prey, Ace Combat 7 and Fallout New Vegas on it and it still blows my mind how it's everything good about a console with everything good about PC. You won't regret it anon, trust me.
