im fine with games that use mechanics, but i mean those games are JUST the other games.
not in the same genre, they LOOK and play like games that already exist.
just giving up and saying "everything has been invented time to finish the ouroboros of creation and suck my own dick while i just remake a game i played 20 years ago verbatim" is lazy and you know it anon.
indie games SHOULD be where interesting new concepts come from, where passion and a lack up top down pressure lets people create a game over a few years where lower expected quality allows for a less polished but novel concept to shine and prove its worth getting the money to iterate on.
instead its just the same unreal demos and pre-canned code, except this time the characters a cool mouse, or a vaguely sexy creature, or a strong woman.
indie games went from ignoring graphics to push out gameplay, into ignoring gameplay to push out graphics.
