the answer is that real life scary and videogame scary aren't the same thing. real life scary comes with an intense overwhelming dread you feel in the pit of your stomach, the most negative emotion possible. videogame scary only has the stimulating aspects, the creeping sensation with none of the intense negativity.

I enjoy horror themed games and don't find many very scary. I think the only games that are scary are games where something immortal is chasing me but I can still fight back like Amnesia The Bunker. Resident Evil 2 had me sweat a bit with Mr. X but he was pretty easy to avoid.

I don't get scared usually, so playing horror games actually does increase my heartbeat and increases tensions. Gives me some feels that I don't feel anymore, so it's good.
