Is the new mario kart worth the 80 dollars?

I don't value games by hours of content vs money spent.
But in terms of how good the game is overall? I'd say it's worth 49,99 dollars only.

Actually I was thinking of something way more simple than just, pretty much the same system of home circuit where you can drive a certain distance and it becomes a track, make it so if you close the loop it becomes a 3 lap one or you can just never close it and it becomes a segment one

Worth the $50 for my machine. It's a game I always default back to between games I am playing so yes. /v/eekends and playing with friends is keeping the game alive for me. Not only that but the single player content is pretty fun to dig into.

Rainbow road is a massive course and if it’s the last leg of a knockout tour it would probably be boring driving that entire thing with only 4 racers. Anyone else notice a distinct bias towards MK8 in terms of the music remixes? All the other MK games got choice remixes of their most notable tracks and themes, meanwhile 8 got a remix of literally every single one of its tracks and even its fucking theme song. Hell, most of said tracks even got 2 versions
Even outside of that a lot of the other remixed tracks from other MK games were of tracks that were featured in 8 as retro tracks

This game isn't worth $70. The open world is fine but gets boring after like 4 hours. The intermissions sucks which is why Nintendo forced it back onto players who dared to pick random so the perceived value of the game seems higher with "200"+ intermissions. Battle mode sucks ass and is a regression in every way since the maps blow and there's only 2 modes. Sandbagging is even WORSE than MK8. The character select menu is needlessly stretched out to include every costume instead of having it be selectable with the character.

Those changes are mostly in regard to their aesthetics, but otherwise for the most part they still play the same. While you could make the case for Mount Wario requiring minimal change something like Electrodrome would require a wario shipyard style overhaul since it has you drive alongside the walls and everything. Dolphin Shoals on the other hand would be outright impossible since shit like the underwater cave would be impossible without the whole thing with the floatier underwater physics for the pipe section and being able to drive on the eel. It’s the one track that I see as impossible to bring back without the underwater segment

I don't think you have to be underwater for Dolphin Shoals to feel like Dolphin Shoals, as long as you're surrounded by water. If there's water below you, and waterfalls to the left and right, it'll feel the same. Those pipes should be shooting out even more water, and the eel… yeah, okay, you'd have to replace the eel.

regular grand prix is a dogshit mode where someone will hold onto lightning until the very end to squirt out a win. knockout is really fun, but the tracks are too limited

These tracks encourage the most degenerate passive style of gameplay because nothing else works. You don't want to frontrun because you'll get punished for it but even if you were to frontrun it doesn't matter because you can't do anything to get ahead of the pack on a straight line. There's no skill shortcuts and you won't get any good items. And since you're not punished for going in the back until the lap at the end for 80% of the track nothing matters but holding A.
