A year ago no one wanted to gatekeep it, quite the opposite. We wanted more people to enjoy these games. but I would argue now after seeing NG4 obviously targeting a “broader wider new audience” the core fan base has changed their mind and we do not want new people playing these games. If NG4 is just reskinned Metal Gear Rising we aren’t getting a new ninja gaiden game anyway.

My entire friend group I grew up with was pretty obsessed with NGB around 2005 and part of 2006. Those guys later went on to act the same way about dark souls way back when that launched. Can’t remember but got that was so long ago. Wish I could go back.


I distinctly remember one summer where the grew kept switching between NGB RE4 and RuneScape every weekend.
