Most overrated tv show ever. Sopranos, I get it; True Detective, great season 1. But Breaking Bad has shit characters, a story that could be told better in just one season and ugly cinematography.

Twin Peak is godly btw.

>it's a coomer game

>she never should have taken off her helmet
Haydee 1 not haydee 2 or 3
>then why do you like haydee
I like the 3d exploration. jumping / climbing elevates games incredibly high and just like how you can stop playing a game to listen to the music, I stop playing to look at haydee's boobs every now and then
also being able to mod it to give it actual good music, even bigger haydee haydees, or just get rid of it is a pleasure I wish I could do with more games

Why didn't BB ever get a game? Even Sorpanos got a game where you play as some new OC interacting with the main cast. Not every moment in the show is shown, just make something up about a protagonist who starts off with Gus or the cartel, later meets Walt/Jessie and dies etc

I was on a minecraft prison server like 13 years ago, and there was an exploit where you could use a lava bucket in a mining safe zone to kill someone and steal their valuables.

I escaped prison legit, but I got bored eventually and went back in there just to do that exploit. The thrill was intense. Even though I was eventually caught and permabanned, it was worth it despite the fact that it meant losing access to one of my favorite parkour courses ever. I got away with it for quite a while too.

Sopranos and The Wire are both better than Breaking Bad. Both have more and better characters and stronger storylines; however, in my opinion, people rank Breaking Bad higher (like a higher ranking on IMDb) exactly because Breaking Bad is simpler. It has a simple premise, clear protagonists, and a straightforward storyline.
In comparison, The Sopranos and The Wire both have many complex characters and complex plots.

Sopranos is a vibe series. Breaking Bad has a clear main character, premise, and storyline. Sopranos, on the other hand, has very little central storyline and a lot of scenes with many characters chatting and doing gangster stuff.

Sopranos is literally a soap opera, hence the name. Anyways, I don't really like Breaking Bad, but it's better than that and has a pretty good ending.

The good shows are, in no particular order:
>Twin Peaks
>The Prisoner
>Better Call Saul
>Kolchak the Night Stalker
>The Larry Sanders Show
>Columbo
>V
>UFO
>Barney Miller
>Cop Rock

it is significantly more driven by interactions between characters, making it closer to a soap opera than BB is
there isn't really some big, overarching goal or plot driving the thing forward, you're just following a group of very dysfunctional people through their weird lives
i'd say the main goal of the Sopranos is to paint a more accurate picture of what professional criminals are really like: a bunch of sociopathic, violent manchildren who pretend they're hard while slowly destroying themselves and everyone around them
BB has a lot of those themes but it is way, way less grounded in reality (this is neither praise nor a condemnation)

I also dropped it at like ep 7 when it was airing.
I just didn't get it. It was just a bit edgy and that's it.
I guess having friends sorta involved with real shit put me off it.

If I had to choose, I'd say it's because

2. Show creators probably didn't want to sign off on it. AMC are also notoriously jewish with their properties so it would've been difficult to work with them

>Walter creating it, Walter coming to the neo-Nazi HQ, and pressing the button to kill the entire crew
The only hard part was actually meeting with Lydia. The fact that they kept meeting at the same place is the saving grace Walt had.

Everything else was either obvious or reasonable luck.
The nazis wanting to kill him on the spot without giving him a chance was bad luck. The nazis taking his car keys was also bad luck.

Walter managing to get under Jack's skin is in line with Jack's characterization and very reasonable.
Walter managing to get his key backs is... tense, but somewhat reasonable.

Really, the hardest part of the plan was actually getting to put the car in the right place. That was the long shot. But Walter has the devil's luck and the early part of Felina shows him being lucky with the keys from the car being almost like a sign from God. So this is absolutely fine.

Say what you will about realizing it isnโ€™t the magnum opus you felt it was in your teens - the show and its prequel/successor have fucking EXCELLENT color theory.
Thatโ€™s about as โ€œsmartโ€ as the show gets.

Remember when Vince tried foreshadowing? The punched toiletry dispenser, pink, Marieโ€™s dropped clepto arc, etc etc.
it wasnโ€™t brilliant, (shoutout to the TP & TD fans in here - typically the quality of a projects writing is within the duration the idea lived in limbo - if a writer spent 10-25 years on a thing I.e. TD S1 or TP S3 itโ€™s going to be fucking brilliant)

BCS was close, but it was grounded in -this- reality, which I feel holds it back for the โ€œesotericโ€ weirdos like myself who consider TPS1 and TPFWWM/S3 the greatest shows ever put to film.

He wasn't good at being a kingpin, he was self destructive and even gets called out in universe for making everything he gets involved with go to shit by multiple characters.
He insists on keeping Jessie around despite him outliving his usefulness in season 1, which leads to him almost not being able to go into business with Gus, and him protecting Jessie is what ultimately leads to Gus trying to kill him. After killing Gus (which does, in no way, prove he's a good kingpin) he gets into business with Lydia and makes bucko bucks for a couple months, but only after he gets into bed with the white supremacists to kill people he's paying hush money to in prison against Mike's advice until eventually his complete insistence in keeping Jessie where neither of them want him makes him sell Walt out, of course, this also wouldn't happen if Walt didn't leave a book signed by his ex meth lab assistant and known associate of meth king pin Gus Fring.
Walt's "empire" was selling maybe 2 or 3 batches to Tuco, then selling a couple teenths a night before stepping on the cartels toes, being hired by Gus for an extended period before he blows it up figuratively and literally, killing him, making his own crew for a couple months until he completely fucks up his own operation which the entire appeal of was he could just step right into Gus' shoes, but he fucked it up because he thought he knew better, then gets robbed by the hit men Mike told him not to do business with, and becomes a wanted national criminal. At ANY point before Hank read his book (by a cartel meth cook) on the shitter, Walt could have stopped being a retard and just shut up and worked and been a millionaire many times over.

This is a genuinely autistic post anon. For each of these things there's another way to see it, Walt's.
>he wants to keep Jesse alive
That's what he wants to do. That's his self-imposed limitation. That doesn't make him good, or bad.
>he gets found because of hubris and pride
That literally doesn't negate any of the rest.

Ultimately he was the only one able to make a product so potent it went across the border and had many copycats. When he left, it was felt all over the country.

There's only one point to be made in that discussion and that's the fact Walt has no connections. For that reason alone, he's no kingpin. He's not Gus and will never be Gus even though he tries to emulate him. Because Gus has 20 years and Walt has 2. But that's not the metric by which Walt is speaking.

REWATCH the damn episode nigger
Elliott reminisces with Walt with complete earnestness. Yes the show makes a point that Walt and Skyler aren't in their world, this is a pretentious richfags birthday, but that doesn't negate or invalidate the moment Elliott has with Walt that shows he actually cares and remembers where he came from. Elliott showed nothing but goodwill here and no amounts of "everyone is dressed in beige to signify they're rich while Walt and Skyler are poorfags" changes that

Exactly. Not really. He couldn't kill anyone he wanted. When he wanted Gus dead, the best connection he got was Saul giving him the number of a gun seller. When he wanted people dead, he had the nazis for a while... But then not anymore. He was the one being used by the nazis rather than the other way around. HE needed them, not the other way around, and he was kept because he provided very good value. Once that value was no more they could just remove him.

Walt having no connections and being unable to be Gus 2.0 is a pretty important point in the show. Just look at S5. He needs Mike to do a lot of the shit.

The machine gun scene is unrealisticโ€”Marvel tier. Walter just parked perfectly, and all the Nazis conveniently gathered in the same spot, standing still while he was punching Jessie. Itโ€™s just as dumb as all the cops rushing to the sewers in The Big Guy Rises.

And like I said, in real life Gus would have just sent a few goons to Walterโ€™s house the moment Walter turned on him and been done with it.

>he wants to keep Jesse alive
Jesse was alive and not doing business with Fring, but Walt couldn't control Gale, and that's why he NEEDED Jesse, someone who is a talented cook but also stupid and easily controllable. And if you want to spin it into some "w-well he cared about Jesse" angle which is kind of half true, he tries to have Jesse killed near the end of the series.
And it DOES make him bad since his insistence on trying to control every little thing and trying to prove he's the biggest smartest most specialist boy is directly what fucks up every operation. If he just ignored Jesse and they went their separate ways he could have worked with Gale under Fring and been a millionaire, happy ending. Or after the whole Fring shit, he could have paid Jesse out his share, done work with Lydia, been a millionaire, happy ending. Or he could have just paid hush money to the people in jail, not bothered with Jesse, and kept his less profitable but still multi million dollar business and once again, had a happy ending.
>That literally doesn't negate any of the rest.
Yes, when you're so fucking mentally ill that you ruin your own business, that DOES, in fact, mean you're pretty shit at running a business.
He is good at making a product. He is a good cook, I won't take that away from him, but to quote himself
>Jesse, you asked if I'm in the meth business or the money business. Neither, I'm in the empire business
It's clear he saw what he had as an empire, and rightly so, it generated 80 million dollar profit gross, and in his apology to skylar said he was good at it, and he most certainly was not. Even like you said, from the moment he cooked meth for the first time to when he died was 2 years almost to the day, and Fring did it, successfully, for 20 years. Now THAT'S someone who's pretty good at it.

Jimmy liked being a good lawyer that would sometimes do shady things and small time cons but otherwise be fine. Saul was a very different story and he spent basically multiple seasons letting his grief build up in the most unhealthy ways possible.

Rewatch the end of the episode where Kim leaves him and see how he adopts the Saul persona for good. He keeps stimulating himself, not even giving himself a second of silence, a moment to slow down and accept the dire reality of his life. He has to go all in on the funny Saul shit because otherwise he'd have to face his regrets

I did a clerk job.
All it ever did was make me never want to do Law again. It wasn't the workload, it was the bullshit they pull out their ass that was the problem and how pointless it becomes. Lawyers just end up becoming the problem.
So I don't need to watch Saul. I KNOW Saul.

>Walt couldn't control Gale, and that's why he NEEDED Jesse, someone who is a talented cook but also stupid and easily controllable
No, he just genuinely liked Jesse. That's why. Gale was a much better colleague and fit for Walt business wise, but Jesse was a second son, which is a pretty big subplot.
>he tries to have Jesse killed near the end of the series
Only once it's Jesse trying to kill him. He has no other solution than to kill him, at least in his mind. After Ozymandias it's another story, he attributes Hank's fate to Jesse.
>If he just ignored Jesse and they went their separate ways he could have worked with Gale under Fring and been a millionaire, happy ending
Impossible, because Jesse was about to ruin Hank's life. He tried to pacify Jesse.
>Or after the whole Fring shit, he could have paid Jesse out his share, done work with Lydia, been a millionaire, happy ending
He handled that part more or less fine despite still having affection for Jesse, they worked with Lydia pretty well. The way things backfired was because Gus' stuff was getting found and everything started to lead back to Jesse and everyone, which also coincidentally lead to Jesse finding about the Ricin and betraying Walt.
>in his apology to skylar said he was good at it, and he most certainly was not
He made 80 millions in two years despite having DEA as a brother in law and a family life to maintain. He was faced with many dangerous criminals, including an actual kingpin and emerged victorious each time against all odds. I say he was pretty fucking good at it

>Jimmy is a prick, just look at what he and his wife did to Howard for ZERO reason
That's after 5 seasons of context, a long battle between Jimmy and Chuck that involved Howard, that's mostly Kim pulling Jimmy around (rewatch each scene, she's the one calling the shots, she's the cold one not breaking facade even one second when Howard comes back to their place). There's Chuck's death. Jimmy, or should I say, Saul, attacking Howard like this is him lashing out at him because of Chuck's death, it has nothing to do with Jimmy being shady.

Jimmy was a decent guy, with some flaws, but with Chuck's support he would have made a great lawyer. Chuck betraying him put him on that path.

>Jimmy was a cheating fag that used any shortcut and dirty trick he could to fake his way into a career path that Chuck busted his ass
Chuck having lingering anger towards Jimmy makes sense, but him actively sabotaging his career, even when it turns out Jimmy is insanely talented in law and handed him a major class action lawsuit on a silver platter, then lied to him that Howard was the one who didn't want him?
Chuck had a superiority complex against Jimmy, the idea that ol Slippin Jimmy was a piece of shit and would always be a piece of shit, and that's why he was happy when he was in the mail room, any type of familial affection to see him on the right side of the law, but as a little piece of shit beneath him, whereas Jimmy idolized Chuck and wanted to be like him.
It's the same reason Chuck had no issue accepting constant help from Jimmy for his dumb ass made up mental illness.
Jimmy wasn't a good person, but he tried, and Chuck didn't want to ever believe that Jimmy could ever be as accomplished or successful as him, and only further convinced Jimmy that playing it fair and right doesn't work.

For me there's no question Jimmy, at the very least early on, was a good person.
He pulled small time scams like the billboard while he was financially struggling to even live, and taking good care of his brother every single day (to the extent that it impressed Howard), and living with the suffering of being rejected by the place he worked at for years and his brother being ill.
And even then he did >>714226602

Actually, let me rephrase it. JIMMY is a good person, Saul isn't. The fact that Jimmy confessed to the Mesa Verde stuff just to make his brother feel better is proof enough. The fact that Jimmy felt bad and apologized to his brother for Chicanery (even though he had all reasons to do so) is also proof enough.

The question about Jimmy is whether or not he's a ticking time bomb. And to that I say, yes after Chuck's betrayal is revealed, but not before.

The Sopranos has some amazing character interactions, the best banter you'll see on tv, has refreshingly based takes and on occasion you'll get a character arch that really sticks with you (like the gambler episodes)

Biggest issue for me was certain characters kind of ruin the show when their on. I could not stand Chrissy and his fuckwit friends, or any scene with Tony's son. Every scene they're in is insufferable to watch and you're stuck with these fucktards throughout most seasons.

>inviting the guy you don't like
Gretchen and Elliot have never even once expressed hard feelings towards Walt. The ONLY times was when he was a wanted criminal and when Gretchen learned that Walter was lying to his family and roping her into his lies
>to lord over how rich you are
it was a birthday party at his house. Yeah I guess he could have rented out a bennigans instead of his mansion, but he's a fucking billionaire dude, I don't think there's any real reason to believe he was being intentionally braggadocios as opposed to just being rich. He even seemed to genuinely appreciate the ramen more than anything else.
>call him a gross cancer patient
he introduced Walt to other people as a co-founder of grey matter and said he was the most talented person he knew in the field of photon radiography and then offered him what can only be assumed as a high paying job, stressing how much the job needed someone as talented as him and a new fresh pair of eyes. Only thing Elliot said that could have even been considered half a slight was the line about "and we have the best health care money can buy" which even the harshest people would only say is a little socially inept. Also let's not forget that the entire reason Walt, Gretchen, and Elliot ever had ANY issues was because Walter was insecure about Gretchen coming from a rich family and ghosted her at her parents house. Otherwise, he'd be a billionaire with the rest of them.

I know that you're just baiting for (You)'s but it's such a retarded interpretation of the scene
