do first aid sprays and herbs actually miraculously cure my injuries and am i immune from long term infection if i take a hit like the RE1 cast?

if so, I'm gonna speedrun that shit. first things first I'm blowing weskers fucking brains out the second he turns his back to me, Tyrant's never going to wake up, and he'll never make it to the controls to release the Hunters. Other than that my only real worry is getting vored by Yawn or mauled by the dogs in the rear courtyard.

Funny enough in the novel continuity this gets brought up. The main cast all avoid being bitten directly during the mansion incident, but they do get slashed up a by the Hunters and Jill loses a chunk out of her shoulder to a Chimeras hook i think. It's later posited by Jill herself in 3 that she might have picked up some immunity from being exposed to all the dust in the mansion containing the weeks dead airborne t-virus particles, as an explanation for why she's taking days to turn not hours after being popped by nemesis in the clocktower fight.

Probably not.

As a baseline: STARS are the equivalent to SWAT in Raccoon City. So if all but 4 died then I stand no chance. Even in a situation where I was forced to fight and survive, many of he traps there rely on the fact it's a video game to survive. Marvin in RE2 was bitten once and it was enough to kill and turn him. Smoking herb didn't fix it. That means you have to survive the entire mansion conspiracy AND find a chopper to pick you up without being touched once. And you have to do that with limited ammo. AND you have to do that while solving the puzzles. You seriously gonna carry a bag of fertilizer halfway across the mansion while chased by Cerberus?

RE5? Okay let's think about it

>1
If you're in the mansion you're fucked. Full stop. The Cerberus are stalking the front yard. Lisa Trevor is stalking the backyard. The mansion is full of zombies and the guard house is full of giant spiders and sharks. And no one knows you're there.

>2 + 3
If you leave Raccoon City early, you might get away. But you wouldn't do that because of how the virus spread. The T Virus got loose because rats got into Birkin's suitcase and spread it into the city's water supply. By the time anyone realized what happened, most of the city was already infected. The national guard and the police attempted to quarantine the area before either dying or saying fuck it and just bombing the whole city

>4
Literal uneducated peasants infected by a religious nut. Any hikers caught by the Ganado were dead already. And any villagers were too uneducated to realize what was happening to them

>5
Similar deal to 4, the people of Kijuju were tricked into taking a Vaccine that was actually a variant of the Plaga from Spain, turning them into the Majini. If you don't take the vaccine, you're just killed by the rest.

>6
RE6 was a global warzone. Which ironically may make you safer. Because the soldiers might aggro the C Virus zombies, allowing you to escape or hide

I mean, it only blew up because Jill and Chris blew it up. In the hypothetical scenario in which you're trapped in the mansion, presumably the STARS aren't there, so there's nobody around to blow it up.

And if STARS *are* there, then you can easily survive the mansion incident by just sticking with them.

The damage output randomizer was fucky around the games release. You COULD get supremely unlucky and end up doing the minimum possible damage to a zombie with successive headshots. iirc it's since been patched so you can't get the absolute minimum damage on headshots more than twice in a row or something. Some sperg here had a spreadsheet with the damage numbers years ago. Maybe someone still has it.

Honestly? The zombies were slow and incompetent. If not for the camera and tank controls, you could easily escape the mansion by peeking around corners and sneaking until you get to an exit. The mansion isnโ€™t even that big, and you could escape through windows.

The real danger is the dogs outside. Dunno, maybe if youโ€™re lucky you can outrun them or climb a tree where they canโ€™t reach you. Thatโ€™s the only tough part.

The zombies are, canonically, bullet sponges. Unless you completely destroy their brains, they'll just keep getting back up. Let alone the fact there are hundreds of them and you don't have infinite ammo. Your typical handgun has ~15 bullets and your standard AR has ~30. If we say you're the most gung ho, based NRA member in existence who was just carrying around 2 spare handgun mags and 2 spare AR mags, that will translates to 45 handgun bullets and 90 rifle rounds. Against a whole city full of monsters than can take several bullets without flinching

it probably does produce or functions like it's own mitochondrial analogue. It would have to since all the infection seems to do is use the host creature as a caloric battery. It's probably also far less picky about what it needs to generate ATP or it's analogue since a lot of progenitor virus creatures and it's downstream descendants in the t virus and g virus seemingly produce mass from nowhere too. But they're probably just super efficient at turning the host's cells into a fuel source, which also feeds into their need to eat constantly.

Being a bullet sponge is a gameplay mechanic, irl even if they don't die from bullets their bones would still get shattered, muscles would tear, ligaments would snap etc. With all the ammo lying around and zombies not being able to respawn just because you left the room even a normal person could eventually clear out the building.

I've tried to think about what scenario is plausible an actual average joe could make it through in Outbreak assuming they ended in any one of the scenarios. I think I can say with full confidence it would not be anywhere near easy as a lot tend to lead to the heart of the problem. Like even if you didn't want to deal with it or turn around, there is a myriad of roadblocks or enemies swarming the city or other places. The easiest would be RE1 since at least if you make it out of the mansion without getting infected you have prior knowledge to get the fuck out of dodge and go far, far away from it. You might get offed by some Umbrella agents before their fall since you will have some knowledge of the incident so you might be fucked regardless.

If I'm forced to go through the events of the game while being a mortal, and using realistic logic I'd get blindsided eventually, but if I somehow manage to get through everything deafened, but unharmed I die trying to firing a rocket in a small room/running out of ammo on the boss.

I don't have very good twitch reaction, but I feel like things would be a lot easier in a game where you where not limited by factors such as game mechanics and could incorporate tactics such as carying more than a 4 items or dragging enemies ontop of one another, or dragging crimson heads into a pit.

The real problem and death defying difficulties will come when the hunter killers start showing up. Those guys are mean as hell and aren't stupid unlike everything else. For example, take the spider incident. I would just spray it with a shotgun and run away. it will absolutely lose all of it's fluid and wind up paralyzed due to the way spiders move. this is why spiders are skittish. they don't want to get hurt because even a small injury can kill or paralyze them

Ehhh... I kind of understand you. But the fixed camera angles and tank controls are what made RE1 a survival-horror experience.

If we would take those out, it would kind of remove the horror experience and turn it more into action.

Maybe if it's first-person, it would be better than 3rd person, in my opinion.

only crimson heads, hunters, and other bioweapons are a threat. zombies are a nothing burger and would be as threatening as silent hill OG enemies

Realistically, the hunters or other BOW's alone would end the run. Zombies wouldn't be a problem unless they're in mass numbers. I say realistically because if a 6'5 creature with claws that can rend flesh hits anyone once, you're going down. But if the game rules of aid spray and the herbs apply, there's a chance. The issue is ammo but with proper aim, there's a chance.

I figured the premise was "you're dropped at the first point of no return near the outbreak (so you can't just cop out and say "lol I'd just not go to Africa/Enter the Baker House" etc), can you survive". Like the first point you see a zombie, that's where you, the anon are.

Code Veronica and 0 might be a little easier than 1.
7's in a weird spot because it depends on a last second bailout from actual series protagonists and having enough plot armour for the psychic lady to not immediately throw you into Lucas' Kmart Saw industry.
It's definitely the easiest if your goal is just to fucking leave since it's pretty unwalled and the Bakers/moldy men can't track worth a damn, there's no invisible wall of murderdogs.

but fine, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and say it totally ignores them for no fucking reason even though sharks vision is terrible and it cant smell me through the water and sharks often bite things by mistake.

I will do the same shit you do in later resident evil games to aquatic creatures, craft a basic harpoon, tie the harpoon on to something heavy, jam it in, and let the things own enormous strength pull the anchor into the water and trap it down there. this is admittedly a lot more dangerous than just avoiding it, but we are going on the premise that enemies don't behave as predictably as the game anyway i assume.
