>>714242163The series died because it was never really supposed to be a series to begin with. Hinako’s story ended with BR. BR Ray is fine I guess but its story should’ve also ended with Ray. BR Tie is nothing at all like BR and didn’t need all those memberberries if it wasn’t gonna pick up where the previous stories picked up anyway, they should’ve at least left out Hinako, those two sisters, and Uta, and just focused on an entirely original cast. If they were gonna do a gacha anyway, then they should’ve just made Sun the one with all the characters from previous entries (which they did anyway).
They tried to create a series and tie a gacha to it but said series gets essentially rebooted and retconned with each entry.
>oh actually the world reset so BR didn’t happen >oh actually the world reset again so Ray didn’t happen >oh actually the world reset yet again so Tie didn’t happen >oh actually theIt’s not a series, it’s a handful of completely separate stories where characters are awkwardly shoved into the next story. And, of course, the male protagonist in Sun didn’t help. They should’ve at least let you pick the protagonist’s sex, since its implied he used to be a woman in a previous timeline anyway. At least Atelier had the right idea - all the entries are separate stories with original characters and plots. Nights of Azure handled the “oh, actually, none of what happened in the first game mattered” way better than BR. Blue Reflection is just this weird patchworked “franchise” made up of what individually would be otherwise decent stories. And the biggest reason that the franchise failed is because there is no sex with Shiho minigame.
