Depends on what you value and what you're buying.

For this shit? No, just emulate the fucking roms.

For something that has aesthetic value beyond the actual consumption; maybe, just don't get fucking screwed over.

The only people who need to buy original physical media are Redump and No-Intro dumpers. Just emulate, and don't give speculators a single cent.

No, buy flash carts.
The only physical media worth having is what survived from your childhood.

>mfw I recoil at video game hoarders and speculators, but spent $200+ on ebay to buy out of print editions of mediocre fantasy books I read when I was a kid

It's all about what you value I suppose. People paying upwards of $800 for boxed carts of Pokemon Red have shit in their brains though.

Based game, but sealed collectors are suckers, even more than other vidya collectors.

No, besides the collectors value on a shelf. Just use a flash cart. Even gamecube supports this, even ps1, ps2, n64 they all support this and it will be running natively.

For something that has cultural value like Legend of Zelda, Super Mario, etc; sure, it can be worth, as long as you don't pay more than what it's worth - read not getting scammed into paying hundreds of dollars like a retard. For just playing, HELL NO - you're getting ripped off - used to be back in the day that you'd get this shit cheap in a garage sale or at some mom 'n pop game shop; but motherfuckers really are scamming people for physical media, just emulate.

Darkness series by Harry Turtledove. Basically an alternate history of World War II, but in a fantasy world so rifles = wands, leviathans = ships, landbeasts = tanks etc.

Not incredible writing, but really neat world building and concepts.

Bonus points that their version of Jewish people are killed for a purpose as they harvest their life energy to create death magic and create the equivalent of nukes, thereby killing two birds with one stone
