Mages were cool until DEIware made them a representation for trannies and other rainbowshit.
Now I'm a Templar man. Mages must die. Praise the Chantry.

Neither really. Itโ€™s more about not letting extremes take over. If you want to know who the good/least retarded mages are look into the fraternities. Wynne and the Aequitarians take the cake and Fiona and her lolberts are the fucking worst. As for the Templars itโ€™s the same but they donโ€™t really have sub groups. They mostly vary from nation/chantry. They can be bad but even the worst has nothing on the fucking Seekers.

This, it was possible to realize that the circles aren't the worst thing while also acknowledging some aspects got far too strict thus leading to the rebellion. Just don't be retarded like the radicals or the literal house niggers like Vivienne.

Templars technically but that's just because the writers of DA2 were such hacks that they couldn't figure out a good way to balance the argument so they had to have every single mage you run into turn to blood magic

Mages in Dragon Age Origins and 2.
Templars in Inquisition.

It's a bit closer to origins with actually creating a character again, a bit more open but you're also working towards a goal like in origins. Don't expect the same level of depth.

Inquisition was mediocre and Veilguard makes every single choice in the series meaningless

I always thought the mages were analogous to the mentally ill, especially since demons from the fade could fuck with them.

If you hated 2, it's unlikely that you'd like Inquisition.
Inquisition is like Origins + DA2 + A bit more woke + Tons of boring MMO-tier slop content
It's better than most games of the last 6 years tho
